Every year on January 19, on the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, a real miracle occurs: water in all springs, be it a spring, river or lake, changes its structure and acquires unique healing properties. How to explain this phenomenon?

Christians around the world celebrate Epiphany in January. True, this happens with Catholics and Orthodox in different ways, and even the dates of the celebration do not coincide. In the Catholic tradition, Epiphany is celebrated on January 6th. On this day, they remember the three wise men - Kaspar, Melchior and Belshazzar.

Following the bright star, they arrived in Bethlehem immediately after the birth of Jesus and were the first to worship the Savior. People who profess Catholicism bring consecrated chalk from churches home on Epiphany. They write on the doors the first letters of the names of the sages - "K", "M" and "B", believing that by doing so they protect the family from evil spirits.

NATURE MIRACLE

In Orthodoxy, the holiday falls on January 19. It is believed that it was then that Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River. According to the Gospel, at that moment the Holy Spirit descended on him in the form of a dove, and a voice from heaven proclaimed him the Son of God. In honor of this event, it is customary in all Orthodox churches to illuminate the water, performing special rituals over it. It is known that such water, if stored in a separate vessel, does not deteriorate for a long time, and besides, it has unique healing properties. But what is surprising: moisture from any source acquires exactly the same qualities, even from the tap. And this happens only on January 19.

In one of the scientific laboratories, water collected on the Epiphany from a flowing lake was stored at room temperature for four years. However, she did not change either color, taste or smell. Ordinary tap water, which stood next to it in similar conditions, became unsuitable for drinking after five months, and still mineral water purchased in a store after eight months. And this is truly a miracle that anyone can touch, regardless of religious beliefs and confessions.

Moreover, it is on this day that one more unique phenomenon can be observed. Sometimes on the calm surface of reservoirs, sharp ripples are visible, which suddenly appear when there is complete calm. This phenomenon was recorded many times, and not only true believers, but also people far from religion became witnesses.

DRUG FOR ALL DISEASES

Christianity traditionally associates the miracle of the consecration of water with the Savior. The Church Fathers believe that at the moment of baptism, the God-man came into contact with matter. By immersing himself in the water, he thereby consecrated it. And since then, on this day, not only in holy springs, but in any other place, water acquires “the original property of incorruptibility,” and the processes of decay and decay do not threaten it. Moreover, it has the ability to heal diseases and to sanctify by God's grace every person who accepts it with faith. Epiphany water, according to the assurances of the priests, extinguishes the flames of passions and drives away evil spirits, so they sprinkle it on dwellings and food, wash their face and hands.

The moment Jesus entered the Jordanian waters was accompanied by many signs. The river flows from the mountains, flows into the Sea of Genesaret (now Lake Kinneret), but for 300 meters it does not mix with its salty waters, and continues its path with a powerful stream until it flows into the Dead Sea, When Jesus was baptized and the Spirit descended upon him Saint - and the waters of the Jordan went back. This sign has been repeated annually since then. On the eve of the holiday, Orthodox Christians put wooden crosses with lighted candles on the river. The water takes them to the Dead Sea, and on January 19 brings them back! On the same day, the fresh water of the Jordan becomes salty …

The place of the baptism of Christ is now located in Jordan. Local authorities only allow on January 19 to perform a church service on the river bank and consecrate water. The action is watched by many tourists and pilgrims, so there are a lot of eyewitnesses who witness with their own eyes how the river turns back, and the branches of the trees go down so low that they touch the water surface.

LANGUAGE CULT

Despite the fact that Baptism is canceled by millions of people around the world, this event is by no means biblical. The first Christians did not single out this day at all. And in the Holy Scripture nothing is said about this. The tradition of the celebration appeared only in the 7th-6th centuries from the birth of Christ. Perhaps it has something in common with the customs of our more distant ancestors? After all, the cult of water was one of the main in paganism.

For example, the Slavic peoples have long worshiped rain, which moistened and, as it were, fertilized the earth. Heavenly water was credited with protective, cleansing and multiplying properties, the state of health of the inhabitants of a particular area directly depended on its quality. One of the most widespread greetings among the ancient Russians was the wish "Be as healthy as water!" Many springs and wells, the water in which had healing powers, was under the auspices of the goddess Mokoshi.

By the way, after the adoption of Christianity, they all came under the jurisdiction of Saint Paraskeva Friday, and then Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker.

In modern Mari, Albanian and Adyghe families, until recently, rain-making rituals were preserved, the roots of which go back to the beginning of our era. During the drought, women and girls made a special doll, took it to the river and threw it into the water. The people met on the way to the reservoir tried to spray the procession, and the participants in the action in response had to drag them away and dip them into the river.

Finally, already today on the Mediterranean coast, especially in the vicinity of Larnaca, Limassol, Protaras, Paphos, the ancient pagan holiday Kataklysmos is widely celebrated - the day of ritual bathing in holy water, which is an echo of the cults of Aphrodite and Dionysus * At dusk on the banks of mountain rivers and by the sea, thousands of people gather for ritual immersion in water, which acquires magical properties for one night.

SCARY HOLIDAY

Consecration of water and all kinds of rituals associated with it were carried out everywhere in ancient times. For example, the famous mermaids, timed to coincide with the winter and summer solstices, served as a kind of initiation for girls and boys entering adulthood. It was they who gave birth to and sent to wander through the epics and tales of mermaids and mermaids, stewards of earthly and heavenly moisture. The main characters of the holiday are innocent girls who have drawn lots. They were sacrificed to the river, crowned with water for the sake of the fertility of the coastal lands.

But the most terrible cult holiday in the life of any pagan is Veles Day. It falls exactly on January 6, according to the old style, that is, January 19, the very day when we celebrate Epiphany!

The name of the god Veles (in some areas - Volos) comes from the Indian "led" - "to perish". During the five days preceding January 6, the elders of the clans selected the weak, sick and unnecessary people for the tribe to send to the forefathers. This was done so that the workers did not have to feed the "parasites" in vain. The doomed were prepared for ritual death. Relatives listened to their last parting words, conveyed their requests to otherworldly forces, and then said goodbye. And on Veles day, people were taken to the shore and drowned in running water (usually in an ice-hole near a whirlpool or at the mouth of a river).

Amazingly, after the adoption of Christianity, chapels and fonts were built in the same places, and in winter they made ice holes in the form of crosses. And where they used to drown their relatives, they began to bathe in the glory of the Christian holiday of Epiphany, as if washing away old sins!

SCIENTIFIC APPROACH

And yet why so many rituals converged on January 19 (b)? As a result of many years of observations, specialists in nuclear physics have recorded: every year, on this very day, intense fluxes of neutrons, elementary particles that have no charge, fall on the Earth. The power of neutron irradiation of our planet increases 100-200 times. The maximum flow rate is in the Dead Sea region - is this why the trees on the banks of the Jordan River bend?

Scientists have long established the fact that intense neutron "attacks" have a sterilizing effect, that is, all harmful viruses and bacteria are destroyed. We can only wonder and admire how our ancestors managed to detect this effect. Perhaps the wise Savior not in vain plunged into the waters of the Jordan at this time. Thus, he gave his followers a powerful tool for self-healing, purification of the soul and body.
