This film starring Mila Jovovich, as stated by the creators, is based on real events that took place in Alaska. The plot of the thriller, released in 2009, tells the story of mysterious abductions that have taken place in Alaska since the sixties of the twentieth century. The psychologist begins videotaping conversations with his patients and finds frightening evidence that allows a different look at the theory of alien abduction. This film is indeed based on a series of disappearances in Nome, Alaska. FBI officers are sure that people disappear due to excessive alcohol consumption - the harsh climate leaves no chance for those left on the street. The family members of the missing believe that it is a matter of crimes committed by a serial killer. The film is allegedly based on real video footage of a psychologist,but no one has ever heard any details about this man. Most likely, the creators just wanted to attract as much attention to their picture as possible, which is why they came up with a story about real videos, which in fact simply do not exist.
Fire in the sky
This film is a Hollywood adaptation of the Travis Walton story. According to the plot of the tape, released in 1993, Travis Walton, who disappeared in 1975 in the city of Snowflake in Arizona, could have been abducted by aliens. His friends and colleagues insist that this is exactly what happened, but the police are hesitant, suggesting that he was simply killed and are now trying to deflect suspicion from themselves. When Travis returns, it turns out that he does not remember anything. Gradually what happened to him comes to life in his memories … The real story is described in a book written by Travis himself. He tells about everything that happened in the first person and describes the spaceship. The stories of Walton and his friends were tested on a lie detector, yet journalist Philip Klass tried to refute the book in his own. The situation remained ambiguous. Who to believe in this case,it's hard enough to decide.

If you remember about this space operation exclusively from the movies, there are reasons for this. NASA officials explain that the mission was not canceled, but simply assigned a different number. The plot of the film, which was released in 2012, tells about the secret mission of the seventies that followed the flight of a man to the moon. NASA is believed to have abandoned the operation, but it was conducted by security personnel. The film allegedly presents previously classified footage of the mission participants, proving the existence of alien life. In reality, no one really canceled the mission, nevertheless, it is assumed that the video was used real, discovered by the Russian director Timur Bekmambetov. How did he get these materials and is this story just a publicity stunt for the film? Only the audience can decide!
Planet Ka-Pex
Many people believe that this film is based on a true story, but it is not. The plot is based on the story of a psychiatric patient who calls himself Prot and claims to be from the planet Ka-Pex. The therapy does not help him, all the efforts of the psychologist are useless, and the patient reports that he will soon go to his home planet. The patient's knowledge, behavior and lack of treatment results make others suspect that Prot is really who he thinks he is. This film is not based on real events, it is simply based on the book. The book is a description of one case in a psychiatric hospital involving Robert, a patient whose wife and children were killed. Prot is his other personality. There are no statements that the described person is really an alien in the book,so to consider the plot as real proof of the existence of aliens is somewhat strange. Nevertheless, one must admit that the story is extremely interesting.
The intriguing truth
Part of the appeal of films about alien stories is that we don't know how real what is happening on screen is and what the plot is based on. Even if you read the real data that inspired the director to work on the film, it is still difficult for you to figure out exactly what happened. Do aliens really exist? The complete lack of specifics on this score makes every thriller about aliens far more intimidating than all other horror films. Films are especially frightening, the plots of which have real grounds, albeit mysterious and not always well known in detail.
