Recall that a number of previous experiments carried out on the hippocampus ended with the detection of brain signals of an unusual type. At the same time, the speed of these signals reached 0.1 meters per second. Scientists argue that it did not change even when exposed to external factors. New observations have shown that such waves may depend on synaptic contacts, which are called gap junctions. Doctors say that this process involves ion diffusion.
