A resident of Odessa Vasily Chikur built a mini-submarine, which he once saw in a dream. The submarine has already made several dives and even managed to perform aerobatics.

The submarine "Chikur-1" Odessan began to build two and a half years ago. During this time, he invested 100 thousand hryvnia in the project. All the technology for building a submarine had to be created independently.

Vasily solved some of the production problems of building a submarine "in Odessa" - for example, the submarine's hull was created like a beer barrel. “The body was brewed by craftsmen who used to make tanks for beer and kvass. But the most difficult thing turned out to be the creation of a transparent cap for the pilot of the submarine - we had to make a special mold and casting,”the resident of Odessa admitted.

Finally, the submarine was ready by early summer 2012. The inventor took the submarine to an exhibition in Kiev and even sailed several circles along the Dnieper. But the inhabitant of Odessa did not dare to dive on the river - the water is too muddy.

“The boat has two autonomous engines, which I also control the vessel. They are powered by a traction battery. And the Chikur-1 emerges and sinks due to the intake of seawater into the ballast chamber. When I need to ascend, I turn on the compressor and pump the water back overboard,”says the Ukrainian“Kulibin”.

By the way, Chikur also took care of safety: if something happens, the boat can drop ballast and begin surfacing in a minute. "In extreme cases, I take with me a compressed air cylinder and a mask," - said the inhabitant of Odessa. Interestingly, the submarine can perform aerobatics under water, up to the "loop".

According to Chikura, his submarine can move continuously under water for 2 hours. “If you take more compressed air cylinders with you, the dive time can be extended to 10 hours. The speed of movement under water - 6-7 km / h - I checked with a GPS-navigator. The maximum diving depth is 50 meters, but I dived to 8 meters. If you take an extra battery, you can swim more than 50 miles,”said the inventor.

The submarine's weight (only 420 kg) allows it to start from shallow water - it is simply brought into the water. However, having built and successfully tested a submarine, an Odessa citizen cannot solve the problem of registering his “Nautilus”: “In the Maritime Register, they kick me in different instances, they don’t know how to register such floating facilities”.
