The story is told by a man with the initials "KJ", but this story happened to his colleague Steve. It happened in 2005.
“Steve is not interested in aliens, ghosts and other abnormal things, and his only real passions in life are baseball and various techniques.
Nevertheless, it was never with Steve that something happened that he himself calls "meeting with a ghost."
Steve lives in Fair Lawn, New Jersey in a three-bedroom house. He is married and has two sons and a daughter. He first realized that there was something else in the house besides his family, one late evening, when his wife and children were already asleep, and Steve himself was watching TV.
He was sitting on the sofa in the living room and suddenly the TV turned off by itself. Steve decided there was a glitch, picked up the remote and turned on the TV again. But after a couple of minutes, it turned off again.
The third time that happened, Steve manually turned off the TV and amplifier box, then restarted them and turned on auto-tuning. This process can take a while, so Steve decided to go to the bathroom for now.
When he returned, he saw something unusual. The TV did not tune in and there was “snow” on all the channels on the screen on. Steve stared at the TV for a while, dumbfounded, and then decided that today was just not his day, turned off the TV completely and went to bed.
For a few weeks after that, everything was calm, but then another incident also happened in the evening. And again it was when the children had already gone to bed, the wife was in the living room, fiddling with documents on the couch, and Steve himself was there in the living room in his chair.

The back of his chair was right up against the wall, so Steve was surprised and scared when he felt something touching his shoulder from behind. It felt like a person puts their hand on your shoulder.
At first Steve thought it was a joke of one of his children, but when he turned around, he naturally did not see anyone, including next to the chair, and there was a familiar wall behind him. A puzzled Steve asked his wife if the children had entered the living room and if she had seen them here now, but the wife said that there was no one else but them.
Still skeptical, Steve went upstairs and peered into the children's bedrooms. They were all there and lay in their beds.
The next incident happened shortly thereafter. Steve was in the bedroom of his youngest four-year-old son, reading him a bedtime story. And his son suddenly started talking about his friend named Jimmy.
Steve thought it was a kid from kindergarten and asked what he was playing with Jimmy in the garden. And then the boy said that he was playing with Jimmy not in the garden, but in his room at home. Steve shivered a little, but decided that his son was just making an imaginary friend for himself. He just wished his son good night and went to his room.
But a few days later there was another incident involving Jimmy. It was evening again and again Steve was reading a story to his son. After that, Steve jokingly asked if his son had played with his little friend Jimmy today. To this, his son seriously objected that Jimmy was not small at all, but big.
And then his son pointed towards the door and said "Jimmy is right over there now." Once again, Steve felt a chill run down his spine, and again he blamed it on the imagination of the child and his fictional friend.
A couple more days passed. Steve stood outside and talked to his neighbor. This neighbor had lived in this house much longer than Steve and was aware of many things that happened in the area.
During the conversation, Steve told him that his youngest son has an imaginary friend Jimmy, and at that moment he suddenly saw how his neighbor's face had changed. And then a neighbor said that before Steve and his family came here, a man named Jimmy lived in his apartment with his parents.
Jimmy was a Vietnam veteran and soon after returning from the war he contracted cancer and died. Then the neighbor told about the day when the residents of the house gathered for his funeral and that it was a very sad day, and then he talked about how Jimmy looked.
Later, a shocked Steve asked his son to tell him about what Jimmy looks like. The boy could not give a clear description of the face and could only name the hair color that matched. Unfortunately, none of the neighbors have any photographs of this Jimmy.
After that, Steve thought for a long time about everything that happened. Does the ghost of this Jimmy live in his apartment and he touched his shoulder that evening and turned off the TV? If so, why was it only his little son who had such a great deal of contact with Jimmy and didn’t show himself to any of the adults or other children?
Further, nothing strange happened in Steve's house, and then his son grew up a little and stopped talking about Jimmy at all. Now he is already a teenager and does not even remember anything about Jimmy and his communication with him."
