In popular science and simply scientific literature, the hypothesis is widely considered that once upon a time there was a port in Puma Punku (Bolivia) when Lake Titicaca reached here. The version is inspiring, but not very consistent with the facts. If water came here, the object would be just a small island surrounded by this water from all sides … In reality, we are seeing a different picture - however, no less interesting and exciting. If you think about it …
The central place is formed by powerful blocks (the weight of the largest of them is estimated at 400 tons), laid as the foundation of some ancient structure. Approximately in the middle of this foundation, there is a gap: one of the blocks, despite its weight, is either destroyed, or almost completely gone underground - only a small part of it is visible, located at a significant angle to the horizontal. Taking into account the nature of the location of the parts (and one can say the fragments) of the structure, which was once located on this foundation, we can assume a strong explosion in this place. The versions of the earthquake and even the Flood are not valid here.
The foundation blocks were clearly previously fastened into a single structure with screeds. And not only the well-known and advertised T-shape.

Screed traces are abundant in Puma Punku. And of the most varied form.
The gates that previously stood on this platform were also additionally secured - holes in their base are visible.
The details of the construction, located now around the platform, amaze with their variety of shapes and the highest quality of work in the stone of the hardest rocks. Even on those blocks that have undergone severe erosion.
Many blocks give the impression of a giant construction set for children - and I just want to try to insert them into each other. The impression is enhanced by the fact that the "cuts" go deep into the depth not at a right angle, but with a slight expansion, and small niches in these cuts seem to be specially designed for the final fixation of the element inserted there.
Macro photography makes it possible to make sure not only of the highest quality of the execution of planes, internal and external corners, but also that it is not frozen concrete, but the result of mechanical processing of natural materials.
There are traces of rather careless ancient drilling.
But there are also better ones. The vertical "groove" is almost undeniably the mark of a cutter or saw.
Taking into account the nature of the "grooves" on the next block (lies at a distance), this is a trace from the disc cutter. And the location of the recesses, drilled in all three directions, evokes associations with a drill going into foam or wood, but not into granite. The purpose of creating these grooves is completely incomprehensible.
There are also several more different blocks that archaeologists got from a nearby excavation. The excavation itself gives a good idea of the chaotic order in which these blocks were located. The object was destroyed thoroughly and irrevocably.
The Incas were obviously trying to use something. but unlike modern archaeologists, they did not care much about determining the original shape of the structure. As a result: the overlap of the gate turned out to be in ordinary masonry …
The Puma-Punku hill is bordered by masonry, giving it the shape of a three-dimensional letter T. An interesting detail: the two upper levels of the masonry are formed by monoliths, which for some reason have been given the form of two steps, and then additional blocks are laid on the lower of these two steps. The purpose of this additional work is completely unclear.
On one side of the hill, the blocks of the structure previously located at the top were left by archaeologists in the position in which they were found. If we assume that in other places the archaeologists were just as punctual, then the destruction of the upper structure had a pronounced direction from south to north.
Taking into account the fact that a significant layer of earth is located between the preserved masonry of the border and the blocks of the upper structure, the version of destruction by a powerful stream (say, during the Flood events) would be quite suitable here. But it is absolutely inconsistent with the nature of the destruction of the central platform!
If we consider the explosive nature of the destruction, then the location of the blocks on the northern side of the hill indicates the repeated explosions: first, the bordering masonry is covered with a layer of earth (for example, the first missile did not hit the target), and only then the upper structure was destroyed by the subsequent explosion.
Perhaps in Puma-Punku we see traces of the "War of the Gods" …
