The fact that human space exploration is accompanied by massive UFO sightings is not surprising. If we assume that UFOs are the activity of an extraterrestrial intelligence, then, naturally, they are interested in the question of how we, earthlings, in our aspirations, can prevent them. It all started even before the space age began.
The first UFOs in space were recorded on December 11, 1955 by the American astronomer John Gray. Two years before the launch of the first satellite, he discovered ten artificial bodies in orbit around our planet. Grey calculated their trajectory and it turned out that in 1953 they all converged at one point. Later, with the development of ufology, it was suggested that these were space probes that separated from the mother ship. But in 1955, everyone was at a loss. These ten bodies are also interesting in that they did not disappear after a few minutes or hours, but continued to circle over the Earth for many years. Only after 1969, the US anti-space defense command NORAD stopped reporting data on these objects.
The beginning of the space age was accompanied by the emergence of more and more reports of UFOs, this time closely related to space activities. All messages can be divided into two groups. The first includes the appearance of UFOs in the areas of cosmodromes, training grounds, Mission Control Centers. And to the second - flying saucers observed directly in space.
UFO at Baikanur
When the first Soviet satellite was launched, none of the specialists working at that time at Baikonur noticed anything unusual. Either the aliens slept through the earthlings' breakthrough into space, or in the pre-launch fever there was no time to look around. It's not that important. But already during the second space launch in November 1957, the whole process was under close supervision. According to eyewitnesses, on that day, about an hour before the launch, a strange stationary luminous object of spherical shape appeared at a low altitude, away from the cosmodrome facilities. So he hung until the moment of launch, and when the rocket took off, he rushed up after it and after a few seconds disappeared into the clouds. A few days later, the Venezuelan scientist L. Corrales photographed the passage of a Soviet satellite and discovered that an object was flying next to it,which, having made a turn, returned to the satellite again. This could not have been the last stage of the launch vehicle, since the second satellite was fixed to the stage. Even then, it was assumed that the aliens were interested in the dog Laika, who was on board.
Since then, almost any space launch has been accompanied by reports of UFO sightings in the areas of spaceports. Evidence of this comes from all countries of the world where space activities are conducted. In the USSR, they tried not to talk about this. Only when tens, hundreds and thousands of people became witnesses, and it was impossible to keep silent about this, there were reports of anomalous phenomena, usually accompanied by comments, which were designed to confuse the reader so that he did not even have a thought that something unusual was happening … They attributed all this to fragments of launch vehicles, to ball lightning, to auroras. Yes, whatever. And in parallel, in an atmosphere of the strictest secrecy, the study of all unusual phenomena was carried out. Only in recent years, more or less reliable information has begun to come in about the connection between the space activities of earthlings and UFOs.
Only two testimonials with reference to time and place. In June 1989, over the Kapustin Yar cosmodrome, a number of officers saw a disc-shaped object with a hemisphere at the top. It flew low over the ammunition depot, illuminating the ground with a beam of light. In the early 90s, according to the testimony of the former commander of the Russian military and space forces, General Vladimir Ivanov, three objects were observed at high altitude a little away from Baikonur and recorded by radars. What it was is unknown. It can definitely be said that these were not airplanes.
UFO sightings by astronauts
Now about UFOs that have been observed directly in space. There were a lot of such observations when people went into space. And this is understandable. It is not always possible to see from the Earth a small object flying at an altitude of many hundreds of kilometers.
The first to see a UFO in space was American John Glenn in February 1962. The three objects first chased the ship, then overtook it at different speeds.
In May 1962, Malcolm Carpenter photographed some objects that looked like lights and a flying saucer.
In October 1962, Walter Schirra observed a large blazing object over the Indian Ocean.
In May 1963, Gordon Cooper saw a red object with a tail over Australia, recorded by ground observation stations.
In 1964, astronomers at the Argentine observatory "Adhara", located not far from Buenos Aires, observed through a telescope how a glowing object was turning around the American satellite "Echo-2" at an altitude of 1000 km from the Earth. Initially, this object flew along a trajectory perpendicular to the direction of movement of the satellite, then made a semicircle and flew away. The second time, he moved towards the satellite, flew around the satellite and flew away. Considering that the satellite's speed was 28,000 km / h, it can be assumed that the speed of this object could exceed 100,000 km / h, and its diameter, according to the calculated data, reached 120 m.
An interesting message was published in the January issue of the American magazine True (1965). It referred to the first test launch of the Titan rocket with the Gemini spacecraft without a crew, which took place on April 8, 1964. It turns out that during the first orbit around the earth, four objects of unknown origin appeared near Dzhemeni. Surprised scientists and technicians watched as these objects took up positions around the flying Gemini: two above it, one behind and one below. Mysterious objects maintained this position throughout the entire orbit, and then changed the direction of their flight and disappeared into space. The article in True magazine caused a sensation, and members of Congress demanded clarification. An attempt by the Air Force command to pass these objects off as pieces of a carrier rocket was refuted, since in this flight the second stage was not separated at all.

UFOs and the Apollo program
Almost every flight of American manned spacecraft has been accompanied by UFO sightings. Even when the Americans first headed towards the moon and this journey was not without incomprehensible phenomena. When the spacecraft was about 60,000 kilometers from Earth, astronauts Frank Borman, James Lovell, and William Anders saw a disc-shaped object appeared, flying parallel to the course of Apollo. With the advent of UFOs, all control systems and navigation devices of the ship immediately ceased to function, and communication with the Earth was interrupted, which caused a lot of noise at the Mission Control Center in Houston. Then a mysterious object bathed Apollo with a blinding light, while the ship rocked. At the same time, an unbearable sound arose, which caused pain in the ears of the crew members. A few minutes later, the UFO disappeared with great speed, but Apollo's course was disrupted. I had to carry out an unscheduled trajectory correction to restore the course.
Having covered almost two-thirds of the distance to the Moon, the astronauts again observed UFOs. It also emitted bright light. Apollo began to stray again, and his control systems began to malfunction. The deviation from the course turned out to be even more significant than the first time and again had to make an unplanned correction. The impression was that someone deliberately tried to prevent the Americans from going to the moon. All subsequent flights, and there were eight more, were accompanied by strange phenomena. These were objects that accompanied ships during the Earth-Moon flights, and objects that were on the surface of the Moon, and objects that were launched from lunar craters. The listing alone will take several pages.
The most sensational reports should be considered the discovery of alien space bases on the Moon. They try not to advertise this fact, but in the photos of NASA, which are officially published, you can see many interesting details that indirectly confirm the existence of something unusual on the Moon. It is the activity of alien intelligence that many experts explain the unexpected and rapid curtailment of the Apollo program. Three ships have already been manufactured (Apollo -18, -19, -20), crews have been assigned, and landing areas have been identified. And suddenly the program was closed. So far, there has been no sensible explanation from NASA.
The landing of astronauts on the moon and UFOs
The landing of American astronauts on the moon was described in the book of one of the authors of the Apollo communication system, Maurice Chatelain, entitled Our predecessors came from space (Paris, 1975) and in the Book of Mystery, written by Professor Jacques Bergier and Georges Halle (Paris, 1975). These books indicated that Apollo 11 was accompanied by a UFO from the beginning of the flight and for two days, and its crew members Armstrong and Aldrin, who landed on the Moon, observed some large unknown objects on its surface.
The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has neither confirmed nor refuted them.
Apollo 16 crew members Duke and Young, who landed on the lunar surface on April 21, 1972, observed strange objects moving along the slopes of the lunar mountains, pointed television cameras at them and reported about it to Houston. There are recordings of the talks between Dewick and Young about the objects they saw, which were conducted in excited voices: Dewick: Look, the structure of these objects is simply incredible. I have not seen anything like it until now! Young: Yes, indeed, some kind of miracle. But look, they're moving up! In addition, Dewick and Young observed the flight of a large UFO near the lunar surface. Simultaneously with them, he was seen by the third member of the Mattingly crew, who was in the main Apollo block in circumlunar orbit.
When the Apollo 17 crew members landed on the moon on December 11-15, 1972, astronaut Schmidt, moving along the lunar surface, also saw an orange object moving on the mountainside. Schmidt later reported that he was observing several more objects on the lunar surface that glow very brightly. Cosmonaut Evans, who was in the main Apollo block in circumlunar orbit, confirmed that he sees these objects.
With Armstrong's arrival in the USSR, Marina Popovich, a member of the Bureau of the Commission for the AJ SNIO of the USSR, asked him about this, to which Armstrong replied: “Some glowing balls flew next to us, but we were told that it was our waste in bags.”
In an interview with the Hamburger Abendblatt newspaper in 1974, Armstrong also stated that they saw unknown objects, but they were too far away to be able to tell what they were.
And in response to a request from one of our diplomats to tell us what they actually saw on the Moon, Armstrong answered bluntly: “We also signed up …” So information about what really happened during the first landing on the Moon is apparently kept by the American authorities under seven seals.
UFOs and Soviet cosmonauts
Unlike their American counterparts, who are more talkative, Russian cosmonauts reported relatively few facts about their encounters with UFOs. Nevertheless, they also saw strange phenomena in space.
The first meeting of the Soviet space explorers with a UFO happened at the dawn of astronautics. On October 12, 1964, members of the crew of the first multi-seat spacecraft Voskhod V. M. Komarov, K. P. Feoktistov and B. B. Egorov reported to the Mission Control Center (MCC) that they were surrounded by a squadron of objects flying at great speed. disks. This was reported then in the newspaper "Komsomolets Kirghizii" on July 13, 1990. From the publications of the St. Petersburg newspaper "Spectrum" N7, 1992, new interesting details of this event became known. It turns out that the flight of the Voskhod spacecraft was supposed to last five days, but already a few hours after entering the calculated orbit, the shocked cosmonauts reported to Earth about a meeting with alien objects. They looked so intimidating that Voskhod's flight was immediately interrupted.
In 1978, Yuri Romanenko, in an interview with the newspaper Vechernyaya Moskva, told how in December 1977 he and Georgy Grechko observed an object pursuing Salyut-6 for two orbits. According to him, it was a small, apparently metallic body, the size of which was difficult to determine. Romanenko even managed to sketch it. True, he later denied his words, stating that it was nothing more than a capsule of waste.
Georgy Grechko also spoke about UFO sightings during his flight. However, after a while, he also began to refute himself, saying that none of this had happened. 1978 turned out to be the most fruitful year for observing incomprehensible phenomena in space. Especially a lot fell on the share of the second crew of the Salyut-6 station. On July 17, 1978, Vladimir Kovalenok reported to the Mission Control Center about the observation of a UFO flying at a speed lower than the speed of Salyut-6 at an angle to the station's orbit. In a report to the Mission Control Center, the astronaut described it as a tennis ball with the brightness of a flaring star.
On August 15, 1978, Vladimir Kovalenok and Alexander Ivanchenkov made an entry in the logbook about observing an object ahead along the course of the station, which either approached the station or moved away from it. On August 29, 1978, when the international Soviet-German crew arrived on board the station, four cosmonauts already witnessed the appearance of a large object that circled the station.
After landing, Valery Bykovsky only said that they really saw something strange, but refrained from details.
Vladimir Kovalenko was more lucky than other Soviet cosmonauts on a UFO. During his next flight, he also made an entry in the logbook about the observation of an incomprehensible phenomenon. May 5, 1981 … I saw a brightly burning ball going almost perpendicular to the direction of flight of the station. Then the ball took an oblong shape like a melon, and there was a double explosion with an interval of 0.5 seconds, first of the front and then of the back, and a cloud of white smoke was formed …
On July 12, 1982, cosmonauts Anatoly Berezovoy and Valentin Lebedev watched on the monitor screen installed on the Salute -7, as between Salyut and Progress-14 some unknown object flew from top to bottom, the image of which on the screen had a teardrop shape. The cosmonauts reported this to the Control Center.
On September 26, 1990, Gennady Strekalov, flying over Newfoundland, watched for ten seconds a bright ball that looked like a Christmas tree toy. In the same year, Musa Manarov saw a strange object orbiting near the ship. All this was recorded on film.
Probably the above facts are enough to unequivocally speak about the attention that is shown to space flights. Moreover, this attention is not accidental, but purposeful. Otherwise, why control the activities of earthlings with such thoroughness at all stages, from the start to landing. As if someone wants to make sure that flights do not carry anything that could threaten extraterrestrial civilizations.
NASA scientist El-Bas, who trained American astronauts in geology, said that no reasonable explanation for such phenomena has yet been found. There is no doubt only that we are talking about some anomalous objects of non-natural origin.
Of interest is also the statement of the well-known rocket science specialist Wernher von Braun, published in the Esotera magazine after an incomprehensible deviation of the JUNO-2 rocket from its trajectory to the Moon: “There are extraterrestrial forces whose location is still unknown to us,” Brown said, “and which are much stronger than we previously thought. I have no right to say anything more about it. In the not too distant future, we will be able to clarify something when we enter into a closer connection with these forces."
