1. Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy
These two American presidents - the most famous and most beloved in the United States - had much in common. Both were rather tall (over 182 cm), although the average height for a man in Lincoln's life, and even in Kennedy's years, was less. Both were military. Both suffered from hereditary diseases. Finally, both died in an assassination attempt, having received a bullet in the head while their wives were next to them. And the day of death in both cases was Friday.
2. Jimi Hendrix and Georg Friedrich Handel
These musicians - each in his own time and each in his own style - went down in music history as geeks. It's funny that if they did not live with a difference of two hundred years, they would be neighbors. After all, Hendrix lived in London at 23 Brook Street, and Handel lived in a neighboring house at 25 Brook Street.

3. The tragedy of the Titanic was predicted long before its death
14 years before the sinking of the Titanic in the icy waters of the North Atlantic, the writer Morgan Robertson predicted the sinking of the ship in his novel Futility, or the Death of the Titan. The novel described a ship with a similar name - but the coincidences don't end there. Both the book Titan and the real Titanic were considered "unsinkable", were the same length, suffered from a shortage of lifeboats on board, and crashed into an iceberg in the North Atlantic.
4. Hoover Dam victims
This tremendous engineering miracle took over 10 years to build and claimed the lives of many workers. The first of them died on December 20, 1922. And the last victim at this construction site - 13 years later - was the son of that very first victim. And this also happened on December 20, but already in 1935.
5. The video game predicted the September 11 tragedy
The futuristic shooter Deus Ex was released for PC in June 2000. The game took place in New York, the outlines of which were reproduced exactly - with the exception of the image of the towers of the World Trade Center. When creating the game, the designer forgot about these towers, so he had to get out and add explanations to the description of the game - they say, the towers were destroyed as a result of a terrorist attack.
6. Unlucky brothers on mopeds
In 1974, in Hamilton, the capital of Bermuda, an accident occurred - a moped collided with a taxi, the moped driver was killed. The following year, on the same street, there was a collision of the same taxi, in which the same driver was driving and carrying the same passenger as a year ago. And the moped was driven by the brother of the deceased.
7. Found each other
Back in 1895, when the automotive industry was still in its infancy, there were only two cars in the entire state of Ohio. And so it was until the two cars somehow found each other in an area of 88,000 square miles and collided, thus reducing the total number of cars in Ohio to zero.
8. Edgar Poe predicted the future
Edgar Allan Poe claimed that The Adventure of Arthur Gordon Pym, which tells how four shipwrecked sailors were forced to eat a cabin boy named Richard Parker, was based on a true story. This is not true. But 46 years after the writing of this book, there really was a shipwreck and the surviving crew members really decided to eat their cabin boy, whose name was … Richard Parker.
9. Intertwined Fates
King Umberto I of Italy once made an acquaintance with the owner of a restaurant, with whom he had surprisingly much in common: they were born on the same day, in the same city, and even their wives were named the same. A few days later, Umberto was very saddened to learn that the man had been shot. A little later on the same day, Umberto himself was shot - an attempt was made on his life.
10. Prophet car
The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand sparked a storm that led to World War I. The car in which the Archduke was killed had a license plate "A III118" - A111118. And the truce that ended this war took place on November 11, 1918, that is, it happened just on this date: 11-11-18. And "truce" in English - "Armistice" - just the letter "A".
11. A very rare book
Once, the actor Anthony Hopkins urgently needed a book to study the role when he was offered to star in the film "The Girl from Petrovka" based on the novel by George Fifer. He could not find this book in any of the bookstores in London, but then accidentally stumbled upon a forgotten copy of the novel … on a bench in the subway! When Hopkins later met with Phifer, he said that he himself did not have a single copy - he lent the last one to a friend, and he lost the book somewhere on the subway station.
12. Napoleon and Hitler
Adolf Hitler was born 129 years after Napoleon Bonaparte. Came to power 129 years after Bonaparte came to power. And he invaded Russia 129 years after Napoleon did the same.
13. Historical doubles
