There are factories for the production of robots in many countries. Even representatives of the Russian Foundation for Advanced Studies announced their intention to launch a project to create combat mechanisms in 2017. Be that as it may, China remains the leader in the production of robotics. Local companies make robots not only for their own country, but also for sale to organizations from around the world. Another robotics plant will appear in China, in which robots will work side by side with humans, according to Reuters.
The new plant will be built by the Swiss company ABB, which produces a variety of equipment ranging from electrical equipment to industrial robots. It will be located near the company's robotics campus in Shanghai, as China is ABB's second most important market after the United States. $ 150 million has already been allocated for the construction of the facility.
The area of the future plant will be about 7,000 square meters. It will be equipped with special software that will allow industrial robots to work alongside people. To assemble small parts, YuMi robots will be involved, one of which acted as a conductor in a human symphony orchestra in 2017.
The robots will be produced both for use in China and for import to other Asian countries. According to ABB, in 2017, every third robot produced went to China. In total, the country has purchased 138,000 units of robotic mechanisms. High demand is associated with rising labor costs - many companies are trying to automate processes.
Robots are already performing some of the human tasks. In May 2018, courier robots from Starship Technologies began to drive around the streets of Mountain View, California. In June, coffee robots appeared in Cafe X in San Francisco.
