In the archives of the ufologist V. Dyachkov there are two curious eyewitness accounts of a meeting with humanoid alien beings in the Kostroma region.

The first story took place in mid-1991. A group of fishermen from the village of Stupnikovo, Kadyi District, Kostroma Region, watched at about ten o'clock in the evening: five humanoid creatures, dressed in something covered and shiny, walked … along the Volga waters along the coast!

Nobody noticed where they came from. All "sailors" were of the same height (no more than 150 centimeters), wearing helmets. Their movements seemed monotonous, mechanical. An interesting detail - when walking there were no splashes of water.

The fishermen drew attention to the very large noses of the aliens, not commensurate with the size of the head. The astonished residents of Stupnikov shouted loudly and enthusiastically, inviting the mysterious strangers to "moor" to the shore, but they walked straight, not turning towards the shore and as if not noticing the people.

Two or three minutes passed, and a small but dense cloud descended on the "water" group from somewhere above, like a clot of fog, in another minute it dissipated - there was no one else on the water.

The fishermen recalled that a UFO in the shape of a slightly flattened ball had been circling over the neighboring village of Zavrazhye for three days in the evenings, sometimes hovering, and came to the conclusion: "So, apparently, he landed the landing party!"

The second meeting took place in August 1997 on Mokhovatom Island in the Kostroma reservoir. Two young people, Gumyar Siushev and Albert Kosmasov, and their girls - Raya and Anya - came to the island by motorboat to fish and relax. There was a bite, and in the evening they cooked a magnificent fish soup.

We drank the bottle of vodka we had in store (let's clarify: only 125 grams per person), then we drank tea. We went to sleep at about 12 o'clock in the morning, in one tent. We agreed: whoever wakes up earlier will immediately check the bottom fishing rods set on live bait.

Gumyar and Raya woke up at about five, went ashore to the fishing rods and stopped rooted to the spot: three very tall men, dressed in tight-fitting overalls and round helmets with wide slits for the eyes ("Like astronauts"), approached them right on the water. One of them stopped almost at the shore and said, addressing Gumyar:

- Let's fly with us to our planet!

Moreover, it sounded not like a question, but like an order. The voice was similar to a human, but some kind of crackling, as if it came from an old damaged receiver, horn or megaphone. Gumyar politely declined:

- I can’t, I’m not alone here. They will look for us, and they will even think that we have drowned!

Raya, screaming, rushed to a tent located a hundred meters from the shore. She tried to wake up Albert and his girlfriend, but she failed.

And Gumyar, left alone with unknown aliens, to soften the categorical refusal, suggested:

- Maybe we’ll fly next time?

He was not honored with an answer - the mysterious trinity disappeared as suddenly as it appeared.

Albert and Anya, who soon woke up, claimed that they slept peacefully, they did not hear any screams (Raya's screams). The story of their friends puzzled them, nevertheless, they believed them, and the appearance of Gumyar and Raya fully confirmed their words. Together, it was decided to reel in fishing rods, leave the island and never appear in these places again!

By mutual agreement, all four kept silent about what had happened. Gumyar was the first to break the "vow of silence" - in the summer of 1998 he told about everything to ufologists.
