For a long time it seemed that the UFO problem had nothing to do with the imperturbable Finns. The only time this problem made them flare up was in the summer of 1946. Then some strange rocket-like objects began to appear over Finland from the Baltic Sea.
They flew at a relatively low speed - no higher than 800 kilometers per hour, emitting hiss and whistles. Sometimes "rockets" exploded right in the air or, according to eyewitnesses, fell into lakes. But no debris was found on the ground, and no objects were found in the lakes. One of these "rockets" allegedly exploded right over Helsinki, breaking glass in many houses …
And yet the Finns were lucky: in 1964, a resident of the city of Kopio, Rayomo Blomkvist, while on vacation at his dacha in Kallavesi, suddenly saw a strange glow, and then a burning object fell into the coastal waters. Rayomo picked him up, deciding that a fragment of an alien research probe fell on his dacha. Finn waited for the enlonauts' visit.
After waiting a dozen years, in 1975 he donated his find for research at the appropriate institutes. Its analysis was carried out by the Tietomaa Science Center in Oulu and the State Science and Technology Center. Scientists have no doubts about the artificial origin of the subject. In their opinion, its internal structure could arise if the substance crystallized in a state of weightlessness. The find differs significantly in its composition from both iron meteorites and typical "space debris".
When information about the find got into the press, the Americans immediately asked to give them the found object for comprehensive research, but the Finns are in no hurry to do this. The mysterious object was shown at an exhibition on anomalous phenomena in the city of Oulu in 1995.
Exhibition manager Veikko Rasila made an interesting statement regarding the exhibits from Russia. Objects, possibly of ufological origin, have never been exhibited at similar exhibitions in Western countries before. When asked directly about a UFO sighting in Finland, Veikko only laughed:
- All our UFOs are made in your Plesetsk! From us it is located directly to the east, and if there are reports that some anomalous atmospheric phenomena are observed in this direction, then we know for sure that the Russians have launched something again.
Seriously anomalous phenomena in Finland were dealt with in 1973, when an association "Researchers of anomalous phenomena in Finland" was established at a conference in Tameer. About a hundred UFO enthusiasts gathered at the conference from all over the country.

In July 1975, cooperation with the Swedish UFO organization began to develop a joint system for the study of anomalous phenomena. In the autumn of the same year, the association, together with the society "Extraterrestrials", sent an information letter to President Kekkonen with an appeal to support the activities of UFO organizations.
The subsequent twenty-year period for ufologists in Finland turned out to be "lean" - for some reason UFOs diligently avoided our northern neighbor or flew over Suomi at high speed and at high altitude. Although over the years, there have been about 4500 cases of observations of unidentified objects.
The majority of the Finnish population is very skeptical about the UFO problem and reacts unequivocally to any celestial event: "It was the Russians who launched something again." No extraordinary events have been recorded over the years. The only exception is the message of a road master from the village of Kuumsamo, to whom two newcomers appeared on the night of April 28, 1993 - a man and a woman, apparently ordinary people in ordinary clothes.
The woman spoke bad Finnish, the man spoke only English. They were interested in the genes of Kuutsamo residents and made an intimate offer to the master, hinting at a certain reward. Aliens allegedly have already attracted almost 4500 men from all over Finland to fertilize their women (strange coincidence with the number of registered UFOs!).
The owner of the house, however, showed no interest in the proposal. The conversation lasted about 5 minutes, after which the aliens left the house. In the courtyard, the master found strange footprints, middle between those of a bear and a human, and on the shore of the lake - a deep round pit about 5 meters in diameter.
Another incident occurred on the border with Russia.
It happened on February 17, 1985 on the Petrozavodsk-Suoyarvi railway section, where a luminous ball flew up to the freight train traveling between the stations Imant-Ozero and Novye Peski and flew in front of the train at a distance of 150 m. At the same time, the train, as if attracted by this ball, immediately noticeably increased the speed, although there was an ascent on this section of the path, and the driver S. Orlov completely threw off the gas and even began to brake sharply.
According to Orlov, the wheels should have already been firmly clamped with blocks, and instead the speed of the train increased to 50 km / h. The frightened driver transmitted by radio to the station that he could not brake, as the UFO was pulling the train.
Panshukova, a duty officer at the Novye Peski station, who jumped out to look at this spectacle, saw a train rushing towards it, in front of which was a luminous sphere, and in its center - a red biconvex disk making oscillatory movements. As the train approached the Novye Peski station, this glowing ball flew off to the side, and after passing the station again approached the front of the train, the movement of which immediately slowed down sharply, so that Orlov and his assistant almost crashed into the windshield, although there was a descent and the driver did not touch the brakes.
When the train arrived at the Zastava station, this ball first hovered behind the trees near the train, and then disappeared. Orlov decided to check what happened to the wheels after such a strong and prolonged braking, but it turned out that they did not wear off at all.
After 25 minutes of the train's stop, the ball again took a place in front of the diesel locomotive, as a result of which, as soon as the driver released the brakes, a heavy train of 280 axles spontaneously started from its place and dragged behind the ball at an increasing speed, although the driver did not give gas and there was no no bias. Then the ball disappeared at high speed in the direction of Finland. The total duration of the balloon escorting of the train was 1 hour 15 minutes.
