A photograph of the spacecraft landing on the surface of Mars, taken by the Curiosity rover and published on June 12, 2017, disappeared from the official NASA website (see video below).
The disappearance was discovered by the explorer of the Martian expanses, Mauricio Ruiz, who, on the very first day of the publication of an interesting picture, managed to download it to his archive and put it on the World Wide Web. The black-and-white photograph showed a large disc-shaped object with a light dome above the upper flat surface and traces of the rover, showing that NASA was interested in studying it.
“Many users would like to see the photo on the main NASA website and asked me for a link,” but when Maurusio Ruiz turned to the original source, he found a black square instead of the photo.
After sending a request to NASA, he tried to find out the reason for the deletion of the image, to which he received a response that the photo shows the remains of the Earth's spacecraft, which crashed on December 22, 2004, which was not previously reported, and that this photo has been moved to another site.
The perplexed researcher went in search and found that the newly exposed image looked "very strange" and was strikingly different from the original photo.
