All over the world people are doing something useful right in these seconds while you are reading this text. You can be one of them if you want. The first step is to stop telling yourself these nine useless tales.

1. I can't

The only person who can tell you, "You cannot," is yourself. If you hear these words coming from somewhere deep in your brain, turn off the sound.

Your faith can move mountains, and your doubts can raise them. Your self-doubt is the first enemy on the road to personal growth. When you put aside your vain concerns about your own capabilities, when you start to respect yourself, you will understand how much you can do, and you will be surprised how many opportunities are hidden in you.

After all, your doubts and your faith have something in common: they require you to believe in something that you cannot see. You just have to choose what.

2. All you need is a good idea

Promotional video:

When you don't do anything, you get nothing.

The idea will not do anything for you - you have to somehow implement it. In fact, a good idea can sit in your head and do you more harm than good. Your subconscious mind understands that you are procrastinating. The work you put off brings stress, anxiety, fear and even more procrastination - a vicious circle that only gets worse over time. It can only be interrupted by an action.

Progress is measured solely by actions. If there is no action, there is no progress.

3. I will do it tomorrow

Successful people have a habit of doing today what lazy people plan for tomorrow.

The biggest enemy of productivity is the futile belief that tomorrow is somehow better suited to do something than today. This is a big fat lie. Tomorrow you will feel the same way, and the auspicious day will never come.

Your real problem is not that today you cannot, but in your mood. Realize at last that tomorrow as such does not exist at all and will never exist. The only opportunity you have is the one you have now. This moment. There is no day other than today.

If you do something today that others won't do, you're in luck. You will wake up tomorrow and feel the ability to do something that others cannot.

4. I'm not ready

If something makes you nervous and uncomfortable, it means that you are doing everything right, you are growing. Any productive growth is associated with leaving your comfort zone.

Your feelings are just anxiety and fear, common in trying to find your way. Anxiety is nothing more than an inner fear, which over and over again makes you experience setbacks even before they happen to you. This is an illusion. Accept the fact that your fears cannot prevent anything bad, but they can stop your life.

So get used to difficult feelings. Your desire for success must overcome your fear of failure. After all, random events in your life always evoke some kind of semi-conscious feelings of excitement and fear. You can consciously control your reaction to them. Concentrate on this and you will always be more productive.

5. My best work is still not good enough

When you're doing important work that keeps you moving forward, it's okay to be critical of yourself. This is because you want to do everything well. You have a vision of the desired result: how everything should look and function.

There are often very large differences between the fruit of our labor and our expectations. You tell yourself that your work is still not good enough: you try, but you still cannot achieve the desired result. It’s maddening, it’s maddening, and you’re ready to quit.

But this desire for perfection, which you put at the forefront, and prompted you to do this work. And this fact is priceless. This is passion, this is drive. Do not let your desire to be better put an end to what you have already achieved, give up cultivating and learning.

You will definitely achieve what you want. It just takes time and practice. If you are still in this phase, understand that this is normal and the most important thing you can do is keep doing your job. Only by doing more work will you improve your skills and close the gap between the expected result and the fruit of your labors.

6. Better to quit now and not waste time and energy

As Winston Churchill once said: “Success is never finite and failure is fatal. The only thing that matters is the desire to keep going."

Perseverance is the mother of productivity. Bad luck, big and small, happens every day, even to the best of us. The strongest and most productive people are not the ones who always succeed, but the ones who don't give up when they fail.

When you feel that you are ready to give up everything, think about which path you have already gone and why you started the business. You are often much closer to a breakthrough than you think. Some people stop trying when they have almost reached the goal, while others, on the contrary, make their way to the goal through any setbacks, until the very last second.

When you learn to quit, it becomes a habit. Always keep going!

7. Any pain is bad

No matter how hard you try, you cannot completely avoid pain: you cannot avoid one of the most important components of growth. You still have a choice: you can surrender to pain and quit, or work, no matter what, persist in doing it and gradually achieve one of your most cherished goals.

Pain is part of the path; its development and what you will do with it is your choice. Hidden in any painful problem is an opportunity - one that literally negates the problem.

Your greatest success will grow from recognizing this problem and turning it into a new opportunity.

8. Structure and sequence don't matter

Your ability to set clear and realistic goals for yourself and work disciplined every day to achieve them guarantees success. This is far more important than any other method of productive work.

If you do everything consistently, focus on the efforts made, you will inevitably achieve the same results from scratch as people who have gone far ahead.

9. It's too late

Not true. It is never too late to make other choices and make something new happen in your life.

This is obvious to many, but sometimes you have to literally drum into your head that your future depends on what you are doing now. Any moment can be a new beginning for you. Complaining about wasted time and lost opportunities is pointless. There is nothing you can do about it.

The future starts now. Right now. Grab it with both hands and pull as hard as you can. If an obstacle arises in your path and you have a choice, to sit back or do something for the sake of further progress, choose the second option. Think, work, climb, if necessary - carry your ass to a happy future.
