At the end of May, I happened to have a rest in Mallorca and, as always, it was not without new discoveries. Almost everywhere on the coast, there were small areas of the selected rock (limestone, dolmite), sometimes it is not clear why they chose - they needed a "donut" or "donut hole"
Everywhere you can see the traces of the tool that were cut (burned out, hollowed out, evaporated or disintegrated the rock?)
Everywhere it is a sample of 10 centimeters wide with parallel walls, at the bottom there is a double dotted line of pits about 1 cm in diameter. On the walls of the groove - straight or slightly radial, not lines, but rather rays (have an end). These marks indicate that the tool has not rotated (not the disc).

This cave a little further from the coast looks like a soft calcareous sandstone.
Again by the sea, at water level, I saw a couple of such niches and larger ones by the water

What is this symbolism, who sculpted and when? did not find information … There are no Christian crosses.
