Have you ever wondered how dinosaurs and other animals crossed the ocean when the Pangea supercontinent split? The answer to this question seems to be found.

The thing is that between the two formed continents some of the soil remained for some time. This allowed the animals to move from one to the other. This is the conclusion reached by scientists at the University of Chicago.

One of the natural bridges stretched from Eastern Canada to the Iberian Peninsula (the part where Spain is now), and the second connected North America with Scandinavia. These bridges existed from approximately 154 million years to 151 million years ago, and from 131 million years to 129 million years ago, respectively.

On these bridges dinosaurs crossed the ocean, because one continent was not enough for them. Together with them, turtles, lizards and early species of mammals got over.

The Atlantic Ocean, of course, was then narrower than it is now, but wide enough so that it could not be crossed. The bridge that connected North America and Scandinavia was located next to the territory that would become Russia in the future. Under water, these bridges disappeared, most likely due to tectonic activity.
