The village of Kordyshevka, Vinnitsa region, thundered all over the world on June 18, when eight amazing circles with a diameter of four to twelve meters appeared on its wheat field. The locals allegedly even saw the lights and heard the hum. In general - all the signs of the landing of aliens. The phenomenon was closely tackled by specialists in anomalies. And the conclusions were diametrically opposite
- Such field formations have been known for a long time. In old engravings, chronicles there are images and testimonies about circles and drawings on cereals or just grass. But then it was attributed to good or evil forces. Now they are increasingly associated with the appearance of unidentified flying objects,”Artem Bilyk, head of the coordinating council of the ZOND (Riddles, Discoveries, New Achievements) Research Center of Anomalies, which operates in Kiev, told Donbass.
According to him, after detailed processing of all the data, about 80% of UFO reports turn out to be unreliable (stars, airplanes, birds, clouds, "Chinese lanterns" are taken for them). But the remaining percentages account for really inexplicable phenomena. This is especially true for phenomena after which there are material environments. Like crop circles, for example.
“Their number in the world is growing every year, reaching hundreds of cases,” Bilyk continues. - Even taking into account possible hoaxes, an impressive figure. In addition, a real researcher will always distinguish a fake from a truly anomalous phenomenon. Information about this kind of oddities periodically appears in Ukraine. But often we find out about them after the fact. This time the signal arrived promptly, so we had a great opportunity to visit the scene soon after the circles were discovered.
Amazing spikelets
Four specialists went to Kordyshevka at once, including Artem. Eyewitnesses told them about a reddish glow, strange sounds that they heard that night when circles appeared on the field. Many who visited there the next morning, their health worsened, their mobile communications failed, and the batteries ran out.
The "Zondovtsy" took samples of soil and cereals, made various measurements, including the radiation level, which did not exceed the usual indicators. The metal detector and special frames that react to bioenergetic deviations were also silent. But the ears of wheat provided invaluable information.

- Despite the fact that they were already pretty crushed by local residents and journalists who gathered to gawk at the curiosity, even on the broken spikelets it was clear that they did not grow evenly, but at an angle. Moreover, the direction of growth at all changed at the same height, says Bilyk. - Proof that these circles are not fake, is the fact that in an abnormally short period there was a one-sided growth of cells of the leaf sinus and deformation of the septa of the node.
The case of national security
Surprised researchers and holes in the ground exactly in the center of the circles. Most are 2-2.5 cm in diameter and 25 centimeters deep. Moreover, the remains of the soil, as witnesses say, were not there. “It’s as if an unknown object wasn’t taken out of the ground, but simply cut out the soil in this place,” explains Bilyk.
Recalling the words of science fiction writer Arthur Clarke: "Any unknown technology cannot be distinguished from magic," the scientist emphasizes that before final conclusions about the nature of this phenomenon, a lot of analyzes still need to be carried out: to compare the chemical composition of the soil, structural and biochemical changes in plants, etc. "This is - the prerogative of serious research institutes, with which we, alas, have no ties. Our activity does not receive government support, so the research methods are very limited,”says Artem.
- But it's not just a matter of solving the mystery of the circles. We are faced with the fact that cereals are changing under the influence of what is unknown. And here we are already talking about national security, the ZOND representative is sure.
Stakes, lights and rope …
However, the coordinator of the Kiev branch of the UFODOS ufological club Igor Lazavenko assures that the Vinnytsia circles are an elementary fake.
- In real ears, like cones, heated from the inside, swollen (how this happens, no one can explain), the bundle in the center of the stem remains intact. And then the trace remained as from some kind of device with which these circles were made, - he explains. - Traced "clumsy work". The mention of "pins" in the center of the formations indicates the use of a device for circularly drawing a circle: they drove in the center a stake with a rope stretched over it and achieved an even circle. The photographs show that the grass was crushed, presumably, by pieces of board, and chaotically, doing it in a hurry. Probably, considering that the tractor driver should have noticed the figures by morning. Which he did, only at night when he sprayed the wheat.
Talk about an incomprehensible light Lazavenko connects everything with the same night work of the tractor (headlights, however), and eyewitnesses of the UFO, in his opinion, appeared after it became known about the circles in the field. Igor is sure that journalists will not seek to expose the fake. Then what to write about?
In principle, beautifully laid out. But the coordinator made his conclusions solely from photos and articles. And the "probes" nevertheless personally visited the newly-appeared Ukrainian field of miracles …
How to distinguish an anomaly from a fake
According to Yaroslav Sochka, the "circular phenomenon" in Ukraine from year to year makes itself felt with new and new formations. They usually appear in July and August.
“Unfortunately, lately we are often talking about man-made formations, created for the sake of fame or for nothing to do,” the “Ufodovite” notes. - Meanwhile, it is not difficult to distinguish fake circles from really anomalous ones. So, we are dealing with an unknown, when:
- the ears in the figures of the circles are not broken, but bent about 3-5 cm from the ground, where the first knot (knee) of cereal is located, at an angle of about 90 degrees
- the ear knot is expanded
- changes occurred in the embryo in cereals and in the cellular structure (DNA)
- cavities appeared in the plants, as if they were heated from the inside
- increased infrared radiation inside and outside the figure
- a deviation of the magnetic field was recorded
- radiation is about three times higher than the normal background
- circles appear at night or in the morning hours in a very short period of time.
Optional, but found in real circles features: ears are twisted into a spiral, which uses certain logarithmic proportions; the bottom of the figure can have up to five layers, in each of which the wheat is twisted in the opposite direction to the previous one, and the spikelets lie neatly next to each other; in the center of the circle, cereals can intertwine in a clever way or remain completely intact.
