My grandmother Natalya is from the Bryansk region. Once she told me about an amazing person who sometimes appeared in their area.
It was an old man. No one knew who he was, where he came from, or what his name was. Just one day he came to the village and asked his neighbors to spend the night. As it turned out later, this strange man wanders through the villages and villages, and enters the cities. People helped him with whatever they could, fed him, gave him shelter.
From time to time, the old man went to his grandmother's village (then she was still in school). Her mother, my great-grandmother, used to let the wanderer into the house to spend the night. The old man thanked for the kindness in a very unusual way: he treated people and animals with some kind of herbs and conspiracies.
When the old man came to the village, people hurried to the house where he was staying, each with his own problems. The Stranger never refused anyone. Grandma said he worked wonders!
Once, grandmother Natalya herself witnessed one such miracle. Their dog fell ill - did not eat anything, only lay at the booth, with its muzzle on its paws, and whined. The father even offered to shoot the dog so that he would not suffer. Yes, only my grandmother did not allow - she loved this mongrel very much.
And just then a wanderer came to the village. Grandma ran to call him for help. The old man entered the yard, sat down next to the booth and said:

The dog with difficulty got up on its paws, sat down and, looking at the old man, began to whine, growl, howl. It felt like he was explaining something. The old man listened attentively, it was evident that he perfectly understood the dog. Finally, the dog finished, lay down again. And the old man says to Natasha:

In the morning, even before sunrise, the old man went into the forest, gathered some herbs, prepared a decoction. Then he gave the dog a drink and whispered something at the same time. Already leaving the village, the old man ordered Natasha's mother to add the broth to the dog food. Since then, the dog quickly recovered, recovered and lived for another five years.
Once there was an incident that shed some light on the mystery of the old man's appearance. Once a man came to visit the village from somewhere in the Oryol region. Seeing the stranger, he said that he knew him. It turned out that once he lived in their village on the next street - an ordinary man, worked on a collective farm.
Then the Great Patriotic War began, the man went to the front as a volunteer. When, at the end of the war, he returned after a serious injury, shell-shocked, gray-haired, he found his house in ruins, and all his relatives in the cemetery. The family did not survive the hardships of the war.
For several days, people saw the peasant sitting on the ruins of the hut: he did not drink, did not eat, did not answer any questions. And then suddenly he disappeared. He appeared three years later - he does not recognize anyone, does not remember anything. When asked where he was all this time, he answered:
- Goblin drove through the forests.
Everyone decided that he was crazy.
But, surprisingly, since then this man has acquired his incredible abilities.
