Asteroid 2013 TX68 will approach the Earth on March 5, 2016 at a distance of 17 thousand kilometers. Currently, this object with a diameter of 30 meters is located at a distance of 14 million kilometers from the planet.

In 2016, the 2013 TX68 will not collide with the Earth, however, according to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, on September 28, 2017, the likelihood of an asteroid hitting the planet rises to 0.000000004 percent. In 2046 and 2097, when the 2013 TX68 may also approach Earth, the likelihood of a collision will decrease.
Asteroid 2013 TX68 was discovered on October 6, 2013 using the Catalina Sky Survey. The asteroid that burned up in the sky over Chelyabinsk had a diameter of about 20 meters. The 2013 TX68 explosion in the Earth's atmosphere will release twice as much energy as when the Chelyabinsk object collapsed.
