35-year-old Indian woman Anusuya Devi for 5 years regularly noticed a needle or a nail sticking out of her legs. The woman suffered from pain, but she simply pulled them out, since the doctors did not listen to her, believing that she was hurting herself.
According to a resident of a small village in Uttar Pradesh, it all started around 2012. She suddenly felt a severe pain in her legs.
Then a small abscess appeared, from which a small but sharp nail came out with liquid. And since then this has been repeated very often. Nails, sewing and syringe needles were coming out of Devi's feet, and she now lived with constant pain in her legs.
Devi tried to go to hospitals, but they decided that she was suffering from a mental disorder and was sticking needles and nails into herself. The woman with tears assured that this was not so, and later her brother confirmed that he lived in the same house with Devi for many years and had never seen her harm herself.
Only in October 2017, Anusuya Devi was lucky to get an appointment at the Fatehpur Sikri District Hospital, where her gap was taken seriously.
At the hospital, the woman had an X-ray of her legs and was horrified. More than 70 small sharp steel objects were not counted in soft tissues. All of them were below the knee in the lower leg.

To check, the doctors took X-rays of the rest of the body and did not see needles or nails anywhere else.
“From a medical point of view, it is impossible for these objects to arise inside the human body,” says Dr. Vishal. “But we still cannot understand how the needles got into her body. It is possible that the patient really hurt herself, but was not aware of her actions. Meanwhile, I have never seen anything like it before and none of us understands how she managed to endure such pain for so many years. Her legs were badly damaged."
The needles were removed from Anusuya's legs during surgery. The further fate of the woman is not reported.
