And now I will briefly tell you my opinion on this issue. So, the topic of "fortresses-stars" is just a dummy, an informational occasion used by some bloggers to raise their ratings and an opportunity to stir the imagination of gullible listeners - nothing more.
What is this form of fortress for? Everything to the elementary is simple - sharp protrusions help to increase the perimeter of the walls - accordingly, you can place a much larger number of defenders to repel an attack. In addition, sharp corners complicate the work of battering tools, judge for yourself - either a blow, a cannonball hit, etc. - into a wall standing in front of you perpendicularly, or into a wall at an angle … There is nothing supernatural in this. Moreover, the fortresses themselves are evidence that the weapons used were primitive, well, the maximum cannons firing cannonballs … Against a serious weapon, fortress walls are simply useless … I would also understand bunkers with multi-meter concrete walls, or huge rooms hewn in the thick of rocks … And such by the way there is…,this is already really interesting … And the fortresses themselves are evidence of low technical progress at the time of their construction. The weapons were serious, and even possibly much more powerful than atomic ones, but this was clearly BEFORE THE STAR FORTRESSES were BUILT …
