The magnetic anomaly was discovered by students of the Perm State National Research University (PSNIU) during their training practice in the Ural Mountains at the Dyatlov pass, where a group of tourists died more than half a century ago, the university reports

“The route of the group, headed by the Honored Traveler of Russia, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Geography of Perm State National Research University, Andrei Korolev, ran through the territory of the Sverdlovsk Region from the city of Ivdel along the valley of the Auspiya River to the Dyatlov Pass and the Belt Stone ridge.

At the same time, the Yanyghachechakhl mountain became the northernmost point of the trip. The most important points of the trip were the Dyatlov pass and the place of the tragedy, which is located one and a half kilometers north of the pass, the message says.

At the same time, a group of tourists discovered a magnetic anomaly between the Khozyatalyakhchakhl mountains and an unnamed peak of 1088 meters.

“There was fog, and we followed the compass. At some point, I noticed that the arrow points to the same point, but not to the north, "the words of the Queen are quoted in the message, who, however, does not see this as an action of supernatural forces. Presumably, in the mountains of the Northern Urals there is deposits of iron ore, which could have an effect on the needle of the compass. In addition, the students cleared the territory of the landscape reserve "Ivdelskiy" in the Sverdlovsk region from debris. At all sites in the valley of the Auspiya river, they collected and disposed of garbage, the total weight of which was about 200 kilograms.

The head of the expedition sees great importance in such an action, since this year a pilgrimage of tourists is expected in connection with the release of the film "The Mystery of the Dyatlov Pass" and the renewed attention to the tragedy of half a century ago.
