Akhalin is rightfully called the most mysterious island of Russia. There is no such accumulation of anomalies and mysteries on any island in the country. One of the most famous places of power on Sakhalin is the Frog outlier. Officially, this rock is called "Structural-denudation outlier" Frog ". It is located in the area of the village of Vestochka along the Okhotsk highway. The research of this place has been going on for 30 years.

Scientists suggest that many more discoveries await them in the waters washing Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands. Craternaya Bay on the island of Ushishir (Yankicha) is also included in the list of the most mysterious places in the world.
These incredible phenomena are chemosynthesis. For a long time it was believed that photosynthesis is the only and necessary condition for life, that organic matter can arise only by receiving the energy of the Sun. And then scientists discovered that other forms exist deep in the ocean floor. The sun was replaced by underwater volcanoes - "black smokers".
Scientists began to study organisms living at depths quite recently - before, there simply did not exist a technique capable of descending to great depths. What lurks there, one can only guess. The two-meter-long vestimentifera worms found at the bottom turned out to be completely beyond normal consciousness.

Still strange phenomena, which scientists are trying to find an explanation for, occur in Aleksandrovsk-Sakhalinsky. In the area of the village of Oktyabrskoye, there is a place that is notorious.
