Scientists at Buckingham University studied the microscopic particle and concluded that it could indicate the existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life.
It turned out that the object from the sky is a small metal sphere. It was discovered after a research probe climbed 27 kilometers to collect dust samples in the stratosphere, Mirror reported.
Professor Milton Wainwright, head of a joint study between the University of Buckingham Center for Astrobiology and the University of Sheffield, said that the structure is made of titanium and vanadium, and that a "sticky" biological substance oozes out of it.
Moreover, scientists made a rather loud statement: the sphere contains genetic material used for the spread of extraterrestrial life on Earth.
“It’s a ball the width of a human hair, with a fibrous structure on the outside and an unknown sticky biological material that oozes from the inside. We were stunned when X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the sphere consists mainly of titanium with an admixture of vanadium, he said.
One of the versions - he was sent to Earth by an unknown civilization to settle extraterrestrial life on our planet. Another theory of scientists suggests that the sphere collected information or samples.
Following the stunning announcement by British researchers, NASA is also planning to send its own probe into the stratosphere.
