“One cannot help but believe in the existence of ghosts - one can either believe in them or not know about them,” says Konstantin Akula, president of the International Association of Researchers of Anomalous and Paranormal Phenomena

Latvijas anomālo parādību pētnieku Asociacija (LAPPA) has not existed for long - only about one and a half years, but it is already international and unites scientists, parapsychologists and simply inquisitive researchers-amateurs of everything anomalous from countries such as Russia, Cyprus, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Canada and the United Kingdom. Members of the Association investigate the anomalous zones of their own and neighboring countries, check the authenticity of local legends, record ghosts and unidentified flying objects with the help of video and photographic equipment, and then share the results with each other, discuss the findings, collect new expeditions and set off again - towards unknown and mysterious, but by no means imaginary or non-existent.

The President of the Association of Daugavpils resident Konstantin Akula told the readers of the newspaper "Now" about the latest research of his colleagues, his perception of paranormal phenomena and described the most favorite places near Daugavpils by flying saucers.

AND LET THESE GHOSTS Crawl …

From the last expeditions of Daugavpils ghost hunters - a trip to Vilnius on st. Antakalnio, 25, where there is an abandoned house in which a poltergeist is raging with might and main. There used to be a laundry room, a military hospital, and, as the story goes, there was supposedly a secret basement where experiments on children were carried out in the postwar period. It was the children's faces of ghosts that Konstantin's group managed to quite clearly capture in the photo. They accumulated in one of the windows of the building and, judging by the knocks coming from the second floor of the building every now and then (the stairs to the second floor were destroyed long ago), they now chose the upper floor of the building instead of the basement, where they were once mocked. And they are here all the time. Why? This question cannot be answered without first defining what a ghost is.

- A ghost is a soul, its imprint or phantom that remained on the ground. In fact, these are souls "stuck" in our world, which for some reason cannot go up. The reasons may vary. As a rule, these are people who committed many bad deeds during their lifetime, also suicides or people who died a martyr's death. These souls are tied to a specific place and permanently reside there. Another thing is that they are not always shown on the physical plane. So there is no such thing - someone sees ghosts, and someone does not. It's just that they are shown to someone, but not to someone, - says Konstantin.

For some reason, LAPPA does not research numerous Latvian castles. Konstantin motivates this with a simple phrase: "Well, what are these ghosts crawling, well, let them crawl …", making it clear that ghosts in castles are a matter of course. Members of the Association are looking for something more extraordinary.

Konstantin saw his first ghost about 5-6 years ago, and to the question “Did you believe in ghosts before that?” He answers: “In this case, faith is a completely stupid concept. How can you believe or not believe in ghosts? Any fact must be supported by something, faith must be based on something. If I can explain something, then, therefore, I can admit the fact that it exists. So with ghosts, either "I believe" and I can explain, or just "I don't know."

THINKING WE ARE ALONE IN THE WORLD IS NAIVE

In addition to ghost hunting, researchers of everything anomalous are also testing in practice, for example, the healing properties of natural objects known in Latvia. For example, LAPPA members have personally verified the strength of the sources in Kevela (Dobele region). The local landscapes are reminiscent of the half-fabulous views from the most popular Hollywood creations like "The Lord of the Rings", and the water from the famous Latvian springs is truly magical.

Promotional video:

- You wash your tired eyes with water from this source, and they no longer hurt, - says Konstantin.

The famous Latvian boulders like the Great Nitsgal stone also have healing power. By regularly visiting these stones (former ritual stones), people are cured of depression and psychological disorders. But the expedition of researchers to the famous Pokain forest (near Dobele) showed that all the magical and mystical properties attributed to the forest are nothing more than a successful marketing ploy. The picture here is picturesque, but the local "ghostbusters" did not record any anomalies.

Various physical devices, as well as simple photo and video cameras are integral assistants in the work of LAPPA members. The technique captures anomalies very well, which was recently proved by another trip to Estonia, where a flying saucer is located in the seaside resort area under one of the buildings. The technique here showed a variety of backgrounds and gammas of radiation, and the analysis of the metal from which the UFO was made, back in Soviet times, showed the inexplicable: such alloys from which the flying saucer is made do not exist in nature on planet Earth! The photographs taken near this building are also full of evidence of anomalies: incomprehensible glare and like someone's burning eyes.

- Flying saucers, of course, do not have to be round. There is reliable evidence of UFOs in the shape of a cigar and a triangle. Who are they and where are they from? I think that most of them come from parallel worlds, and the rest from other Universes. It is very naive to believe that we are alone in this world and our Universe is the only one, - the president of LAPPA shares his knowledge.

AGLONA "SUCKS" PEOPLE INTO THE FUNNEL

Speaking about anomalous zones in Latvia, Konstantin distinguishes three: Aglona and the north, north-east of the Daugavpils region; a region in Vidzeme between three cities - Sigulda, Cesis and Valmiera; as well as places near the river Lielupe, near the seaside. In Aglona, a group of researchers visited a strange place near a lake where people disappear. According to Konstantin, the place is terrible. When you are there, the state of trembling and anxiety does not leave you.

- It feels like there is like a funnel. Or maybe a portal is open. Be that as it may, the sensations are so heavy that we did not want to go back there and explore this place, - says our interlocutor.

Speaking specifically about the Daugavpils region, the researchers of anomalous phenomena speak about the following places of especially frequent UFO sightings: Zalyumi, Nauene, Lociki and Vishki. Why flying saucers fly there, one can only guess. And Konstantin, as an experienced ufologist, of course, has his own thoughts on this matter.

- It is believed that UFOs often appear where military bases used to be. Another suggestion is that they are powered by power plants. But, I emphasize, these are just fragile guesses, - K. Akula reflects.

Saying "UFO", Konstantin is sure that it is a UFO, because on the basis of each suspicion of the presence of an unidentified flying object in one place or another, Daugavpils ufologists check the location of satellites, find out whether it could be an airplane or another object. And only when there is no doubt, a verdict is issued: these are guests from other worlds flew to us.

In general, Konstantin Akula is sure that contacts with aliens and otherworldly worlds have long been established by the powerful, and only ordinary people are still kept in the dark. But this is not for long.

- Soon the era of Pisces ends and the era of Aquarius begins. This is a very significant moment, so it remains quite a bit to wait until aliens from other worlds openly come into contact with us, - the leader of the researchers of local anomalies is sure.
