BISHKEK, May 12 - Sputnik. Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic are looking for an explanation for the strange pictures taken with the help of camera traps, said Zarina Esenbaeva, a public relations specialist for the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU).

According to her, at the end of December 2014 in the Mambet-Bulak tract on the territory of the Chon-Kemin natural park 48 camera traps were installed to shoot wild animals, including snow leopards.

“NABU specialists, while viewing the latest images, found several frames with an unknown luminous object,” Esenbaeva said.

“All camera traps were in good working order, which is proved by earlier and later photographs. Experts suggested that it was sun glare, but the frames clearly show that the weather is cloudy,”Esenbaeva noted.

According to her, since narrow specialists could not explain the origin and nature of the captured object, it was decided to transfer the images to the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.

“All the frames from this camera trap are being studied there. As far as I know, there is no consensus yet: some scientists say that these are just glare, others argue that these are “blurred” footage of a fast running animal,”Esenbaeva said.

She stressed that mountain goats and snow leopards were repeatedly caught by camera traps in this area.
