The second expedition to a unique find on Yamal took place. True, the skull could not be taken with me, it turned out to be too large.
A photograph of a dinosaur skull has already spread all over Russia. Ural fishermen stumbled upon a fossil, eerily similar to the head of an ancient reptile, while rafting on the Ruta-Yu River in Yamal. And although tourists constantly pass this place, this is the first time they have such a large "catch". An important discovery was accidentally made by Oleg Yushkov from Perm, who during the rafting lagged behind his comrades and stumbled over an extremely unusual stone.
“Oleg took a photo of the fossil and showed us the photo,” explained Evgeny Svitov, head of the Wild North club. - At first we laughed, and then we ourselves came to this place and were stunned: well, very similar to the head of a dinosaur.
Having returned home, the tourists could not calm down: they decided to collect a second expedition and go to the place of discovery by helicopter. No sooner said than done. In less than a week, the employees of the "Wild North" club collected 640 thousand rubles and again flew to the mysterious find.
“We planned to remove the fossil from the river, but it turned out to be too heavy,” Svitov admits. - The find weighs about 300-400 kilograms. The skull is approximately one and a half meters by meter. We installed a breakwater on the river, and the zoologist who went with us made all the necessary measurements. We have also shot a lot of photo and video material, which will be sent to experts in St. Petersburg.
In the video filmed by the fishermen, indeed, you can see the head of a dinosaur. The main evidence for skeptics is clearly visible white teeth in two rows.
“They can be felt very well,” the travelers assure. - From the second side you can see them worse - the water has worn off, but you can feel every tooth to the touch. Nature could not have done this!
Members of the "Wild North" club assume that the head weighs about half a ton, and besides, they do not exclude that the entire body of a dinosaur lies below the water. They were afraid to carry out excavations themselves, although, they admit, there was a desire. But - what if they break something? Therefore, curious men limited themselves to installing a breakwater to make it easier to shoot the skull on video.

“So far, based on the photographs of the skulls that are covered with water, only preliminary conclusions can be drawn about the species of the animal,” explains Pavel Sitnikov, a specialist in the FS “Rosokhrankultura” on rare biological objects. - Most of all, the find is similar to the sea lizard Dakosaurus (Dakosaurus-maximus).
Doctor of Biological Sciences Sergei Gashev believes that the fossil of a prehistoric animal may belong to the Seimuriomorph, one of the first reptiles.
