Closet-dwelling monsters have been a major source of fear in American children for decades. Scary stories about the Boogeyman living in the closet (or under the bed) have been around since there were closets in children's bedrooms.
Of course, the overwhelming majority of these horror stories have nothing but a rich children's imagination. But sometimes these creatures are seen by adults and then one cannot explain it by imagination.
An unnamed girl once said that one evening she was in the living room with her mother and the two of them were watching TV. The girl's father had gone to bed earlier.
And suddenly the girl and her mother heard a loud cry from their father, full of horror, coming from the parental bedroom. Both rushed upstairs and the first thing they encountered was that the door to the bedroom was locked.
This was unusual, since this door had no locks at all, it had a simple handle. However, the door could not be opened while the father continued to scream loudly from within. It is noteworthy that the father abused alcohol and drank heavily that evening, so the girl's mother and she herself thought that maybe he saw hallucinations.
When they finally managed to open the door, they saw with horror that the man was hanging in the air, as if he was being held by something invisible. He hung there for a couple of seconds, and then collapsed to the floor, and then jumped up and looked very scared and suddenly sober. He said that they all need to get out of this room as soon as possible.
When all three left the bedroom, the girl saw. that his father's chest was severely scratched to the point of blood, as if a wild animal had attacked him. The mother asked his father what had happened to him and if everything was all right with him, but he only repeated “The devil! The devil wanted to take me away!"

When he calmed down a bit, he said that the "Devil" attacked him and wanted to bite him on the neck. The mother and the girl did not believe him, but the next morning (all three spent the night on the first floor in the living room), the father said that when he was in the bedroom, he suddenly heard a man's voice from the closet. When he approached the closet, something dark jumped out and pounced on him and he doesn't remember anything else.
The girl does not indicate what happened after her parents and she saw this creature in the closet, but then she describes that a few days later this creature now appeared to her.
Another strange story about the creatures in the closet happened in 1980. The eyewitness was then a child and shared a room with his brother. There was a large wardrobe in the room.
Another story is dated 2005. A single mother with her son moved into a two-room house and on the very first night her son complained that "something touched his feet."
Another story comes from Newfoundland (Canada). An eyewitness said that in the 1960s, when he was a child, he lived in a house with his mother, grandparents and three sisters on Blackmarsh Road. He was then 9-10 years old and according to him, this place had a bad reputation for many years and before his incident, ghosts were often seen here.
He himself had not seen ghosts, but something lived in the outer closet in the living room.
