The "Wailing Wall" in Jerusalem - the sacred section of the stone wall for the Jews - is widely known throughout the world. Unable to pass to the Temple Mount itself (even more sacred, which is now in the territory of Muslims), Jews and pilgrims from all over the world come to Jerusalem to the Western Wall to turn to God with prayers and requests - after all, it is the Western Wall, as it is believed, is the place closest to the location of the ancient Jewish temple …

Meanwhile, the Western Wall is only a very small portion of the walls that surround the Temple Mount. The total length of these walls is about one and a half kilometers. Their height from different sides of the Temple Mount is different and at the highest point reaches 45 meters. The thickness of the walls at the base is estimated by archaeologists at about five meters.

If we make rather rough estimates, then we can get the total volume of the masonry of the wall on the order of two hundred thousand cubic meters - slightly less than the volume of masonry, for example, the third pyramid (the Menkaur pyramid) on the Giza plateau. This is, of course, less than the volume of the famous Great Pyramid, but still quite impressive. By this parameter, the wall around the Temple Mount could well be considered one of the ancient Wonders of the World.

The wall work around the Temple Mount is characterized by a very high level of care for the blocks throughout the wall. The only exception is the upper part, which has clearly undergone more than one "repair" in its history (their traces are clearly visible on the Western Wall).

The original quality of the processing of blocks and masonry of the wall around the Temple Mount is most clearly visible on its south-western corner - in the so-called Archaeological Park. For a long time, this place was hidden under the ground and fragments of ancient structures, and therefore the wall here did not undergo destruction and erosion and was preserved in excellent condition. Some of the blocks that form the wall here reach a weight of 50-70 tons, but at the same time they are almost perfectly laid without any mortar.

Particularly impressive is the underground part of the westernmost wall, which contains huge blocks weighing hundreds of tons. The largest currently known block reaches a length of more than thirteen meters. The weight of this block is estimated at 628 tons! And with such a weight, it was not just put on any foundation, but raised up on layers of medium-sized blocks, as if the builders specifically aimed at the most difficult masonry option.

The classical versions that the Jerusalem walls were built by King Herod or the no less legendary King Solomon do not stand up to criticism: neither in style, nor in capabilities, nor in documentary evidence and reports of contemporaries, these structures could not have been built by these famous kings! But who then erected the most powerful megalithic buildings in Jerusalem?..

The answer suggests itself: we are again dealing with the construction of a civilization of "gods" …
