Scientists have developed a new theory of the ocean on the planet Mars. It tells about the possible deposition of ice from asteroids, which was subsequently melted.
As part of a scientific conference, which was held in the state of Texas in the United States, one of the members of the NASA laboratory, Timothy Parker, put forward a new theory regarding the origin of the ocean on the planet Mars. The conclusions of the scientist are based on the latest research of the Red Planet using advanced technologies and satellites.
His theory is based on the assumption that about four billion years ago, the planet was overgrown with ice, which was deposited from nearby asteroids. A little later, from the outbursts of comets and the same asteroids, the ice melted, which explains the appearance of the ocean and its existence in the region of 200 million years. Parker believes that the appearance of the ocean was not natural; it was sulfates from meteorites that melted the ice, which explains the formation of a shallow basin.
Another popular version explains the formation of the ocean due to evaporation, but such a phenomenon can only occur if there is a certain amount of solar heat and the density of the atmosphere.
Scientists are inclined to think about the presence of the ocean on the Red Planet due to certain finds of types of minerals, which indicate this fact. Subsequently, when further studying the atmosphere of the planet, scientists will have to double-check all their guesses.
