It seems to me a little unfair, if not stupid, that we are constantly waiting for some kind of threat from space. From there, meteorites, asteroids are always falling, comets arrive, posing a threat to all life on the planet.

Aliens also live there, who also do not mind invading the Earth's atmosphere and enslaving all living things. I don't really understand why we are so infringing on our own planet, because we did not have time to really get used to here, as we already climbed beyond the atmosphere, looking for enemies and possible scenarios for the end of the world, which, by the way, never took place.

If you look closely at myths, legends, legends, then on Earth there are many more real reasons for excitement than in space. If we collect statistics, then I am sure that the mentioned legends of antiquity will contain many more different "aliens" on Earth than outside it.

Threat from the water

Ever since I wrote my essay "Thinking about Sea Serpents," I began to understand that water is a much more mysterious substance than space. Yes, I may have bent, but this element is at least closer to us than space distances, we have the opportunity to touch, try and carefully study the water.

Based on the material mentioned above, we can conclude that huge reservoirs of water suitable for life are hidden under the ground, which communicate with each other and have an outlet to the surface. In this essay I will rely on myths and legends, but this does not mean that the essay should be immediately taken with skepticism. As I have already managed to make sure, yes, probably, and you, many legends and traditions contain a lot of valuable information that only needs to be correctly engraved, without prejudiced skepticism. Let's engrave?

From personal views, I will once again base my article on the beliefs of the Sumerian-Akkadian civilization, which I consider very wise and advanced in all spheres of science. It is worth noting that many peoples adopted the gods from the Sumerians, for example, the Babylonians, partly the Hittites.

According to Sumerian beliefs, there is a fresh ocean (Apsu or Abyss) under the ground, which was created by the deity Ea. This Babylonian god is a key figure in the cult of Sumerian-Akkadian mythology. He, by analogy with the Christian concept of the creation of man, created people from clay, is a symbol of wisdom, the patron saint of underground waters and the underworld in general.

It is noteworthy that this religion also had its own Noah, who saved humanity from destruction and was notified of the flood by Ea. By the way, if so many different nations talk about their Noah, maybe there were many arks?

In general, many parallels can be drawn between the events described in the Sumerian-Akkadian myths and the Bible. But we are interested in the fact that such a wise and influential deity is the patron saint of water, and his son killed Tiamat. With the interpretation of the person of Tiamat, you can get completely confused, but if you summarize all the information, then from this substance / deity, which is the personification of the salty ocean, from which everything that exists was created. Another image of this deity is the sea serpent, which is also important for this essay.

In general, according to the beliefs of the Sumerians, it was under the water that wisdom was originally kept, which was in charge of the mentioned Ea. There are such characters in this cult as "asu", which can be translated from the Sumerian language as "knowing water." On the frescoes, "asu" are depicted as people dressed in fish scale robes.

According to legend, they were skilled healers, and received their gift from Ea. Concluding a cursory review of the influence of water and the deities of this element in the ancient cult of the Sumerians, one cannot miss the legend of the Babylonian historian Berossus. He described a creature named Oanna, who came to the Sumerians from the Persian Gulf, and taught various crafts, shared wisdom.

If you believe the myths, the body of the creature was like that of a fish, and the head and legs were human. There is a lot of controversial information about this creation, but many historians considered it necessary to study Oannes especially carefully (as Oanna was called according to the European version). Many researchers believe that Oannesa and Ea are one and the same character. He also appears in the legends of the Philistines, only under the name Dagon (fish / dag), this term can be found in the Bible. You can continue the list of peoples and cults where something wise comes out of the water to “stupid” people within the framework of the book. Our history is replete with references to animal people.

But at this point I want to complete the consideration of deities from the element of water, and once again note the theory that I began in the article "My view on the UFO phenomenon." It seems to me that during the universal cataclysm in the form of the Flood, not all people died. Some of them were able to find a way to survive under water and adapt to existence there.

Then the surviving people began to rise to the surface to a new, but "dull" race of people. Looking at this Babylonian fresco of a fish-man, we can safely assume that we are facing an ordinary man in a spacesuit stylized as a fish.

Let's add here the impressionability of our brother, when something unusual comes out / flies out of the water and the image of the mutant will be even clearer to us.

I would like to associate with what is happening under water and various mythical and unexplored creatures. Today there are a lot of books that tell about the sea monsters of our time and bygone days. Their varieties, in my opinion, are much more than those unknown creatures that come across on land (yeti, chupacabra).

But I am sure that we do not know even a hundredth part of what happens in the depths of lakes, reservoirs, seas and, of course, oceans. This element is primordial on this planet, and if we take into account the fact that there are problems with the date of the creation of the world, then water has a huge time frame for the creation and development of completely unique forms of life.

An underwater threat overview would be misleading if the Kraken was not included. There is hardly anything on land that is comparable in size and mystery, like this anomalously giant squid. The closest mention of this creature dates back to the 18th century.

It is about 1774, Captain Robert Jameson, under oath, assured the public that he and his crew saw a huge body of a creature measuring 1.5 miles (1 mile = 1.8 km), which left behind a mass of fish and a storm. All this can be attributed to the nonsense of the sailors who sorted out the rum, if not for such a mass of information and references about this creature.
