Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion International Airport suspended operations early Wednesday after an unidentified flying object was found on radar screens.

On alarm, Israeli fighters were raised into the sky. All flights were delayed, and planes ready to land were ordered to enter the waiting area, according to The Jewish Press.com.

A few minutes later, the operation of the airport resumed in the same mode. No details about the UFO are given. ITAR-TASS clarifies that the object was spotted near the country's air borders. During the overflight of the fighters, it turned out that he is not an enemy drone or aircraft and does not pose a threat to Israel's security.

The Israelis' caution is justified. Last Saturday, for example, an enemy drone was spotted in the country's airspace. To shoot it down, the F-16 fired two missiles. Following this incident, a number of units of the country's security forces were put on high alert.

Earlier this week, fighters flew an alarm to the city of Beit Shemesh, but no dangerous flying objects were found there.
