Teachers and students at a California elementary school are racking their brains after dozens of dead fish seemingly fell from the sky earlier this week.
Children in Oroville, leaving school on Tuesday, noticed that the playground and the rest of the school grounds were littered with dead fish.
The administration of the educational institution initially thought that the strange incident was some kind of joke, but later found that the fish was scattered even on the top of the building's roof, where it would be very difficult for a joker to get into.
No one actually saw the fish fall from the sky and all attempts to track down how it ended up on the school grounds have been unsuccessful. Even a nearby incubator said they did not receive any orders for fish shipments that day.
In addition, experts who were shown photographs of the fish said that it is a type of carp that lives in warm water and cannot be caught from the river closest to the school.
Some began to speculate that the event might be a rare weather event in which the fish were picked up by a storm or funnel cloud and then accidentally thrown onto school grounds.
However, meteorologists expressed doubts about this explanation, as there was no indication of similar weather conditions that would provide such a scenario for the development of events.
So, at this point, the Oroville, California mystery fish case remains unsolved.
