Finds of stones similar in shape to the head are not uncommon. Sometimes these are man-made artifacts, sometimes - the petrified skulls of various creatures. Many of them are associated with magic cults, and even with extraterrestrial civilizations.

A lot of fossilized skulls are found by archaeologists and paleontologists during excavations in the so-called anomalous zones and in the areas of ancient sanctuaries. So, in the seaside cave Refrigerator, in the permafrost, a very strange skull was found - elongated in length, with eye sockets at the top. The creature to which he belonged is not known on Earth.

Local historian Ivan Stepanchenko from the village of Medvin, Kiev region, found another boulder, shaped like a skull. But by no means human! This skull, weighing about a pound, has an oblong shape, a slit instead of a mouth, huge ears, and a nose is practically absent. According to the local historian, the find lay in the ground, possibly for millions of years and served as an attribute of some ancient cult.

Recently, a similar skull was found two hundred kilometers from Sofia. He was sent for examination to a Berlin laboratory, the results of the examination are still unknown.

UFO crashes?

Several years ago, a Minsk resident Yevgeny Bugaev, walking with a dog in the forest, found a strange stone that resembled a human head. It clearly showed the eye sockets with brow ridges, the outlines of the nose and mouth. Surprised by the find, Eugene took it with him. I determined the place in the barn for the stone "head".

A couple of weeks later, he discovered several more stones, similar to the heads of various animals - a snake, a crocodile … Then Bugaev thought that they were not here by chance. I started rummaging through the archives and found out that it was in these parts that a mysterious incident happened more than 20 years ago.

On the night of September 7, 1984, two planes flew over Minsk simultaneously. One followed from Tbilisi to Tallinn with a landing in Rostov, the other - from Rostov to Leningrad. The pilots noticed a luminous cloud that pulsed in flashes, as if blinking. The crew of the Rostov-Leningrad liner also blinked the side lights in response. Why the pilots came up with such an idea, they subsequently could not explain. However, they managed to safely proceed on their flight.

The crew of the second plane was not so lucky. The pilots reported an unidentified object to the ground, and the dispatcher for some reason sent them straight towards the cloud. And then the UFO illuminated the cockpit with a powerful beam. This beam accompanied the plane almost to Tallinn. There the pilots were sent to the hospital, as their health deteriorated sharply. A few months later, the crew commander died from the effects of an unknown radiation exposure, and the co-pilot remained disabled for the rest of his life.

This story was reported by the media, but they tried to quickly "forget" about it - in those years there was an unspoken ban on topics related to mysticism and UFOs.

After reviewing this information, Bugaev concluded that the UFO, which was chasing the pilots, crashed over Minsk, and his findings were sensors of an alien aircraft disguised as stones! What grounds did he have for that? Bugaev is a specialist in automatic control systems for aircraft. He worked in a design bureau, participated in missile launches at Baikonur …

In his opinion, these "stone heads" can be products of biotechnology: both electronic devices and living organisms.

It would seem that the idea is completely delusional. There are a lot of inconsistencies in it. For example, if a UFO crashed over Minsk, how could it have chased the pilots to Tallinn? Why disguise sensors under the heads of terrestrial animals and people? Isn't it easier to assume that these are the heads of the aliens themselves, torn off during a spaceship crash? And in general, there is no evidence that the stones appeared in these places after the incident with the glowing cloud!

"Tricky" place

Nevertheless, other researchers became interested in the "stone heads". Thus, the well-known Far Eastern ufologist Valery Dvuzhilny, having familiarized himself with the samples, said that the composition of the rock was affected by temperature and that the stones are of cosmic origin. It is possible that these are indeed petrified skulls.

Vsevolod Bordon, a leading researcher at the Institute of Geochemistry and Geophysics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, gave a more sober assessment of the phenomenon. He determined that most stones are composed of silica. However, this type of quartz is extremely rare in the Minsk region. Moreover, it is difficult to explain why the stones suddenly ended up in one place. Several samples are pieces of volcanic rock that should be missing from the area. The unusual shape of the stones is most likely simply the result of the weathering of rocks. But theoretically, it could also be petrified skulls. Only whose? And where did they come from in such quantities, and even on the surface of the soil? Scientist's verdict: "The stones are interesting, and the place is kind of tricky!"

"Toy" poltergeist

One of the most amazing stories associated with stone heads (this time man-made) happened in 1972.

Eleven-year-old Colin Robson and his younger brother Leslie from Exham, England, found two small children's heads carved out of stone on a lawn near their home. One portrayed a boy, and the other, smaller, a girl. And from that day on, the Robsons' house became "unclean." Things began to move by themselves, and the stone heads rotated, although no one even touched them. Household items did not just move from place to place - some force broke and spoiled them. And on the bed of the owners, a hail of glass fragments fell from the ceiling, as if someone smashed glass into smithereens. At night, strange lights lit up in front of the house. Soon, nightmares began to haunt the Robsons' neighbors. They were some kind of monster, similar to a person, but thickly covered with wool.

The stone finds were handed over for research to a local expert on ancient English history, Anne Rose. Mrs. Rose initially suggested that the mysterious items were from the era of the ancient Celts. But suddenly a few days later at night the researcher herself woke up with horror. At the door of her bedroom stood a giant over two meters tall. The lower part of his body was human, and the upper part was like that of an animal. And he had a wolf head!

Mrs. Rose got out of bed and took a step towards the monster. However, the terrible creature immediately fled, flying down the stairs. And after that at night in the house strange sounds began to be heard, as if someone invisible was walking through the rooms. Anne's family members were clearly aware of the presence of some evil creature. Only when the stone heads were taken to another place, everything ended.

These events convinced Mrs. Rose that her guess about the origin of the Exchem exhibits was absolutely correct. She knew that the ancient Celts carved the resemblance of heads from stone to use them in religious rituals. According to the researcher, a curse could have been imposed on them, which has not yet lost its power. But very soon this hypothesis vanished like smoke. Dr. Rose, accidentally meeting with the truck driver Desmond Craigie and talking to him, learned that it was he who made the stone heads! Previously, his family lived in the house where the Robsons settled. In 1956, Desmond carved two baby heads from stone as a gift to his youngest daughter. And when they left, the daughter forgot the "toys" on the lawn, where the Robsons brothers discovered them 16 years later …

But is there an explanation for everything that happened next? Is it possible that a dead or artificial head, made in the likeness of a living one, continues to store some information, to capture subtle vibrations of the surrounding space and "process" them, giving rise to strange phenomena? As for "natural" skulls, here each case requires careful study.
