Various ufologists and conspiracy theorists give out news about the planet Nibiru a thousand times a year. Either it approaches us and threatens to destroy, then it just allegedly became visible, then NASA seems to be diligently hiding it from earthlings. But so far it is only known that the existence of this mysterious planet has not yet been proven.
How it all started
For the first time, the word Nibiru (or Neberu) appeared in Ancient Mesopotamia - one of the great civilizations of the Ancient World that existed in the territory of modern Iraq and part of Syria. The word was mentioned in mythology, speaking of the god Marduk.
“With the help of Ne-beru, he [Marduk] holds the intersection of heaven and the underworld,” the myths said. It is still not completely clear what the Sumerians really meant. They sometimes mentioned Nibiru together with Jupiter, sometimes associated it with Mercury, sometimes described it as a kind of "station in the center." But it was not clearly called a planet. One way or another, myths and science are far from each other. However, there were people who tried to tie them.

Today, the name Nibiru is understood as a mysterious planet that supposedly threatens life on Earth. It is also called the tenth, eleventh or twelfth planet and planet X.

Adherents of one of the theories believe that this is a satellite of a certain Brown Dwarf (or Dark Star). Nibiru is uninhabitable, it is something like a spaceship. Every 36 thousand years, the Dark Star allegedly approaches the Sun. Because of this, cataclysms and catastrophes seem to begin on Earth. Some are sure that the Flood happened for this very reason. Because of this, craters appeared on the Moon and Atlantis disappeared!
According to another version, Nibiru is a space ship, which is controlled by intelligent beings. They fly through space and periodically destroy civilizations.
Journalist and writer Zecharia Sitchin put forward his theory. He said that this planet flies between Mars and Jupiter every 36 thousand years. And living creatures live on it, which were considered gods by the peoples of Mesopotamia.
Evidence
In 1978, scientists discovered Pluto's moon, and after that astronomers Robert Harrington and Ton Van Flandern started talking about having discovered another planet. They stated that the celestial body is 3-4 times larger than the Earth.
The infrared astronomical satellite then actually recorded a mysterious object. Then NASA recognized that the existence of another planet in the solar system is possible.
The name of the hypothetically existing planet was already given by the public. Decided: if there is, then this is Nibiru.
However, there is still no evidence. Astrophysicists say that in theory there should not be a planet with such a mass and an orbit. And life on it is impossible due to the lack of sunlight and heat, as well as a temperature of -270 degrees Celsius.
