Recent scientific advances, thanks to which people of the not very distant future will receive truly superhuman abilities, cause some concern in modern people (in particular, residents of the United States of America). The material, which reveals the details of the relevant sociological study, appeared on the pages of the magazine Popular Science.
Sociologists conducted a survey among nearly five thousand Americans who voiced their attitude to such no longer fantastic technologies as synthetic blood, electronic brain implants and genome editing. Such developments are still in the early stages of development, but in the foreseeable future they will bring medicine to a completely new level - editing DNA will allow us to defeat many genetic diseases, brain implants will expand the capabilities of the mind by orders of magnitude, and synthetic blood will make the body hardy like a machine.
Americans, however, are generally cool about such innovations, fearing that such technologies will be available only to very rich people, who, in the end, will become practically gods, which will further increase the existing inequalities between people.
