Experts made their predictions based on the existence of the Internet and the rapid development of 3D printing technologies. So, the British believe that around the year 2116, earthlings will get rid of the need to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner for themselves. Everything will be much easier - a variety of dishes can be downloaded from the world wide web and printed on a household 3D printer, which will be at home, almost every inhabitant of the planet.
Futurologists claim that a special kitchen robot will help the especially lazy inhabitants of the Earth to print the dish, or bring the UAV home. In much the same way, it will be possible to reproduce other goods, including clothing and furniture. Drones will act as public transport, and they will also play the role of trucks.
By that time, earthlings will get used to the existence of underwater settlements, which will be built in special underwater bubbles, the authors of the study believe. In this regard, the production of underwater transport is also expected to take off. By 2116, buildings will not only go high into the sky, but also descend into the depths of the earth, about 25 floors deep. And, of course, at that time everyone will have smart home systems installed in their homes.
Humans will master the surface of the moon and colonize Mars, which will lead to the active development of commercial space transportation.
And although this forecast resembles a science fiction movie, the authors of the study argue that it is quite realistic. “A hundred years ago, our current way of life would have seemed fantastic to a person,” says Dr. Maggie Aderin. According to the co-author of the forecast, the Internet has turned the world upside down, revolutionizing communication, learning and how people interact with the world.
However, at the moment, technologies are developing so rapidly that it is likely that in 10 years the forecast will need to be updated, scientists say.
