Thebes is a mirror of heaven on earth, a place where a person lives in harmony with the entire Universe and prepares for life in another world.

The mysteries of Ancient Egypt, sacred geometry, the mystery of the proportions of the Golden Section, which embodies the principle of beauty and harmony - all this is Thebes.

Phi - the value of the calculus of proportions - 1.618…. It is a transcendental number because it is expressed as an infinite decimal fraction. The name of Thebes - No-Ammon - the capital of Ancient Egypt begins with this sign.

Thebes (Luxor) is one of the sacred places of Ancient Egypt, where, according to ancient Egyptian texts, star portals open. For the ancient Egyptians, Thebes is the City of the Living and the City of the Dead.

History and legends

Thebes was the capital of Uaset - IV nome of Upper Egypt, this city became the capital of all Egypt in the era of the XI dynasty. Uaset, which in the Bible is referred to as No, the Greeks called "the hundred-part Thebes."

Egypt still hides its secrets from us, which is quite consistent with the ancient name of this country - the land of Kem - "mystery, mystery", as the ancient Greeks called Egypt. We do not know how the pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, the temples in Luxor, Karnak, Abydos were built. Perhaps there is a "different" history of Egypt and Thebes, a history older than the one we know.

As Jorge ngel Livraga writes in Thebes, according to ancient myths, people lived on Earth millions of years ago. About 700 centuries ago, after the death of Atlantis, only the island of Poseidonis remained - the last fragment of Atlantis described by Plato. The advanced culture and civilization of Poseidonis took root in Africa, in what is now called Upper Egypt. Then the Nile was much shorter than now, and, without forming a delta, flowed in the vicinity of modern Assiut into the Sahara Sea, which later disappeared, the waters of which washed the sacred island, known today as the Giza plateau.

Thebes seemed to "straddle" the Nile, stretching out on its two banks. One side was the dwelling of the living, and the other was the dwelling of the dead. The Nile, in turn, crossed Thebes almost strictly from south to north, and the sparkling solar disk made its way over the river from east to west, forming with it a kind of cross. On the eastern coast, the ancient capital of Egypt was divided by the channel into two parts: in the south, the city of Luxor was subsequently born, in the north - the village of Karnak.

City of the living

With the beginning of the New Kingdom in the epoch of the 18th dynasty, the city began to flourish.

Thebes became the political and religious center of the great Egyptian state, the center of the Cult of the Sun - Ra and Spiritual Light - Amun. It was here, on the eastern bank of the Nile, that two grandiose temples were built: the Luxor Temple, which in ancient times bore the name "Temple of Humanity" and the Karnak Temple - "The Temple of Chronicles", connected by avenues of sphinxes. These majestic temple complexes were adjacent to palaces, houses of nobility, gardens of rare trees and artificial lakes, obelisks and colossal statues of the pharaohs.

One of the wonders of the ancient world has been preserved in the Karnak Temple - a hypostyle hall with an area of 5 thousand square meters. meters, a roof once towered above it, which rested on 134 columns that have survived to this day.

The columns are arranged in 16 rows, forming a sacred corridor, all the bas-reliefs on them depict the ascent of the pharaoh to the gods. The mystery of the number 134 has always worried initiates and mystics.

City of the dead

On the western bank of the Nile there was a royal residence and a necropolis near Mount Dehenet - "Western Summit", El - Kurn. The peace of the dead was guarded by the mythical snake goddess Meritseger - “loving silence”. Here, on the western bank, was Deir el-Medine - a settlement of construction workers and artisans, embalmers, temple scribes and peasants.

Unlike the pharaohs of the Old Kingdom, whose capital was in Memphis, the Theban pharaohs during the New Kingdom did not build pyramids in order to hide the tombs as carefully as possible from prying eyes, they were cut out in the rocks, the entrances to the tombs were covered with large stones and walled up, the walls and ceilings of the tunnels and the rooms were covered with colored paintings telling about the life and deeds of the deceased.

Tutankhamun's tomb.

Today, about a hundred tombs have been discovered in the Valley of the Pharaohs, almost all are pharaohs, among them: Thutmose III, Amenhotep II, Tutankhamun, Horemheb, Ramses I, Seti I, Ramses III, Ramses VI, Ramses IX.

In the Valley of the Queens, they buried not only queens - the wives and mothers of the pharaohs, but also the untimely deceased Egyptian princes. In the Valley of the Queens, archaeologists have discovered over 70 tombs. Of greatest interest is the tomb of Nefertari, wife of Ramses II. The wall paintings of her tomb illustrate the Egyptian Book of the Dead.

To this day, on the western bank, there are: the aboveground memorial temple of Queen Hatshepsut; a giant funeral temple in honor of the God Amun, built by Ramses II - "House of Millions of Years of Ramses Meriamon", now known as the Ramesseum; Colossi of Memnon - two seated statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III 18 meters high, which guarded the entrance to the unpreserved giant posthumous temple of Amenhotep III.

In Thebes, as in all of Egypt, an exoteric religion for the people and sacred sciences, to which the brotherhood of priests dedicated themselves, were preserved and existed for thousands of years, like the two poles, since the ancient mysteries were never open to everyone.

For many years now I have been in Egypt every year, and every time I have the feeling that my consciousness may have existed even before the pyramids of Giza were built, and will continue to exist when not a trace remains of them. Traveling through the ancient country of Kem, I try to see and hear. Here to this day there are places where time seems to have stopped. Among this peace and the remnants of the "great collapse" of a mysterious civilization, one can understand what modern books do not teach, and more importantly, one can live it here.
