Kelvin Santos, 2, died in hospital of pneumonia, and his body was released to relatives for burial. During the farewell ceremony, the boy lay in an open coffin.
An hour before his funeral the next day, the boy sat in the coffin and said, "Dad, I'm thirsty." At that time, in addition to the boy's father Antonio Santos, there were several other people closest to the family in the room.
They began to shout that a miracle had happened and were shocked by what they saw. A few seconds later the child sank back into the coffin and showed no signs of life. Antonio urgently took Kelvin to the hospital, but the doctors stated for the second time that the child was dead.
It took about 20 hours between the moment when doctors first declared the death of the child and the moment when, according to the child's father, Kelvin got up and asked for water. The parents waited a few more hours with the burial, but then they nevertheless buried their son.
The father intends to sue the hospital. In his opinion, the doctors pronounced death too quickly and the boy could have been saved. Doctors do not comment on the words of the father that his dead son came to life for a few seconds.
