Presumably, these are footprints of a large bipedal carnivorous dinosaur Acrocanthosaurus atokensis, a relative of the famous tyrannosaurus.

Team leader Stephen Boss says these are very high quality prints and a very important find. Based on the study of the layer in which the traces were found, one can now draw conclusions about what the climate was like then and what the weather was like. Everything around was as it is about now in the Persian Gulf, it was very hot. The water was shallow and very salty (prints were left in the shallow waters of a former reservoir).

- These are not the most favorable conditions for a dinosaur, - says the Boss, - we do not know what he did here and how many there were.

Plaster copies were removed from the tracks

In parallel with the tracks of the predator, other tracks were found, though not so well preserved. They most likely belong to herbivorous sauropods. Perhaps it was them that a relative of the tyrannosaurus hunted. Traces of both him and others date back to 120 million years BC.
