In the old legends of the Iroquois, it is mentioned about meetings with the hairy people of the forests, whom they called "Saskawachi". Often the Saskawachi kidnapped Indian girls, and in retaliation, the Indians took their livestock, trampled their fires and fired at them with bows. Over the years, scientists have treated these legends as not worthy of attention. But their opinion changed after finding a scalp that would fit a head twice the size of a human.

How the scalp ended up in the Dursley family is told in an old document found in a chest. Handwritten, it is entitled The Saskawach Scalp. It says that the trapper acquired the scalp from the Oneid tribe of the Iroquois tribal union shortly before the American Revolution. The Indians told a trapper named Ezekiel Dursley that they had cut him off the head of a Saskawach.
The Iroquois, who traded their scalp for several blankets, told the trapper that they had caught the Saskawach while scouting. Seven Indians fought him on the hill, but in the end they overpowered Bigfoot, scalped and killed.
