If you are driving in the dark almost through the wilderness on a completely empty road, and even are alone in the car, your imagination can start playing evil jokes with you. Nevertheless, researchers of supernatural phenomena argue that motorists in fact often notice various anomalies on endless routes, and sometimes frightening guests from the subtle world. One of these stories happened long ago in America.
Regular subcontractor Chris Fortofer has to travel by truck from Dayton, Ohio, to Pittsburgh, PA, and back on duty. Typically, a man leaves at 10 pm and returns to his hometown at 3:30 am. Night work, as well as the night deserted track, suits Chris quite well. The American has been engaged in such trips for 7 years already, and before that did not know any problems, but a few weeks ago something strange happened to him along the way.
First meeting with the mysterious man in the hood
Fortofer says that he had already returned to Dayton and found himself at about 1 am on the I-70. Suddenly, our hero noticed a man on the side of the road, whose head was hidden by a hood. The stranger's faces could not be seen. Even from a distance, the driver realized that the individual by the road was moving in a strange way. There were no other cars nearby. The weather was good, but a walk alone at night along a deserted road, even in good weather, is a strange phenomenon in itself.
When the headlights of the car illuminated a mysterious figure, Chris suddenly realized that an unknown person was hovering a couple of tens of centimeters above the ground! Moreover, our hero noticed that the stranger had no hands and feet, and instead of a face there was an ominous darkness. One might think that someone invisible was wearing blue jeans and a brown hooded sweatshirt, or these items of clothing were spontaneously floating through the air.
The driver did not have time to be surprised when he drove past a mysterious silhouette. Turning, Fortofer suddenly saw the right shoulder of the hooded figure jerking back and forth with incredible speed. Then Chris got really scared. He gasped, and the ominous figure was soon left behind. Seeing another truck in the oncoming lane, our hero contacted him by radio (on civilian waves) and asked if there was anyone on the road.

The answer was negative. The American even told an employee of a nearby gas station about the incident, but he said that he had never seen anything like it here. Of course, the man did not seek after this another way from Dayton to Pittsburgh. He would have safely forgotten about this incident, if a couple of weeks ago, on the same section of the same highway, an inexplicable phenomenon had not happened to him, from which the driver's hair on his head stood on end.
This time, the hooded figure literally jumped out of the bushes onto the road and landed right under Chris's truck. Fortofer got scared that he had hit a pedestrian and stopped the car. However, no corpse was found under the wheels. The stranger, apparently, just disappeared into thin air. Fortofer spent a long time looking for a rational explanation for what happened, like teenage jokers or optical illusions, but he could not convince himself that there was no mysticism here.
Now the American is simply afraid to drive alone on this road at night and is already seriously considering changing jobs. Considering, he says, that nothing is accidental in this life, what kind of a sign is given to him in the form of a ghost in a terrible hood? And does not find an answer …
