South of San Francisco, in the famous Silicon Valley, is the Stanford Institute, an institution where closed psi research has taken place for 23 years. In 1995, the English popular science magazine "Focus" first told the world about them.

However, only 270 out of 80 thousand pages became public. The rest are still kept under the heading "top secret". However, the fact that the surface floated up was quite enough to give the impression of an exploding bomb.

NECESSARY PEOPLE

As you know, in the 1970s, the USSR and the USA were in a state of cold war. Both sides believed that all means would be good to win it. As a result, at this time, within the framework of a special CIA program, the Americans decided to create a psi-espionage center, whose activities were based on the use of the paranormal abilities of some people.

The Pentagon was faced with a difficult task: to find such. Apparently, Dr. Harold Pathoff, a physicist from Stanford University, told the public about his experiments with the psychic Ingo Swan. A few days later, in the best traditions of Hollywood, two secret agents visited the physicist. What they talked about, history is silent, but it is not difficult to guess: soon Svoi became the "first swallow" that was approved for the experiment.

DISTANCE TRANSMISSION

The military treated the experience properly: if it is necessary, then it is necessary. Major General Edmund Thompson reported this: “I never had the desire to debate with skeptics. We did not know how to explain it, but the explanation interested us less than its practical application."

In the course of the experiments, a special technique was developed for the targeted inclusion of telepathic and clairvoyant abilities - "perception at a distance." Usually the leader together with the subject (receiver) was in the laboratory, at which time another participant (transmitter) went to a place unfamiliar to the receiver. The transmitter absorbed the necessary information and mentally transmitted it to the receiver.

He reproduced the data obtained, answered the manager's questions. Over the course of several years, this technique was improved so much that it worked quite successfully even without the participation of the transmitter.

Scent like a dog

In the secret unit, there was a strict selection: if someone did not cope with the task, he was ruthlessly weeded out. But those who managed to prove their talents in practice, forever inscribed their name in the history of American espionage.

Pat Price was rightfully considered one of the stars. The former Police Commissioner and Deputy Mayor of Barebank, a Los Angeles suburb, is a legend. While still a police officer, he became famous for his unique flair. Pat Price joined the researchers in June 1973. As a test, he was given random coordinates. None of the participants in the experiment knew what was there. Pat did not know this either.

On the drawing: the airfield that Price mentally "saw". In the photo: aerial photography, which fully confirmed the information obtained by Price with the help of clairvoyance.

This did not prevent him from giving a description of the military structure with amazing accuracy. But Price's finest hour struck during another experiment. He was told the geographical coordinates. However, this time everyone, except the subject, knew that it was a nuclear test site near Semipalatinsk (USSR). Everything that Pat listed exactly matched the data from the space reconnaissance. Moreover, he significantly supplemented the available information.

He sketched industrial buildings and indicated the exact location of a tower crane several stories high that moved along these buildings. The former police officer also accurately described the workshop in which giant balls were made using the latest advances in welding technology. A year later, a spy satellite fully confirmed Price's data. Only the psi agent did not live to see his triumph - he died in 1975.

UNKNOWN SUBMARINE

Another shining star of psi espionage is Joseph McMonigle. In September 1979, he was able to mentally travel to the north of the USSR and describe a huge submarine at the stage of completion. He argued that the ship had no analogues in the world - it had a wide, flat aft deck and cannon barrels with the ability to accommodate 18 to 20 missiles. The military initially did not believe Joseph. They were greatly alarmed by the fact that the boat was being built in a building located at a considerable distance from the sea.

However, McMonigle stubbornly stood his ground. He predicted that in four months the Russians would arrange a series of explosions, which would lead to a channel to the sea through which the boat would leave the secret shipyard. Four months later, in January 1980, the spy satellites did indeed take pictures of the largest submarine built by that time, the Typhoon. The photograph clearly showed the flat aft deck and twenty barrels of guns.

In 1984, the US government recognized Joseph McMonigl's special service to the country. He was presented with one of the highest awards that are awarded to the military in peacetime - the Order of the Legion of Honor "for his outstanding contribution to the implementation of a unique intelligence project."

SKILL DO NOT DRINK

Once they decided to conduct an unusual experiment on the subjects: send them where, as they say, Makar did not drive calves. Ingo Svoi got under the distribution. He was given the coordinates of … Jupiter. Indeed, in space, an astral intelligence officer, with all his might, could not connect to someone else's brain.

And what? Swan is teleported 400 million miles from Earth and outlines a giant ring that encircles Jupiter. His chiefs threw up their hands: unfortunately, an experienced psychic "missed" - he described the ring around Saturn. The experiment was considered a failure. Who knew then that in just a few years the American spacecraft Voyager 1 would take pictures of Jupiter, on which that very ring would be noticeable!

Sometimes several people "sent" to the object at once. For example, the same Swan and Price were sent to a secret listening station in West Virginia. They gave accurate information, reporting the secret codes used at the station.

Sometimes telepaths participated in peace operations as well. When a US plane crashed in Zaire, Pat Price was brought in to find it. The spy satellites tuned in to the coordinates indicated by him and, in fact, found the wreckage of the plane there.

Another operation concerned the tracing of the fate of Colonel William Higgins, kidnapped by terrorists in 1988 in Lebanon. Psi-spies spotted him in a small village, but just before his release, the terrorists killed him.

IS BIG BROTHER FOLLOWING US?

It seemed that after numerous successes on the psi-espionage front, such a well-oiled machine should have existed as long as possible. However, in the early 1990s, the program was curtailed. But why did the CIA suddenly abandon experiments and kill its own brainchild? Who knows … There is no exact answer to this question, only guesses.

They say that the experiments went too far - the subjects began to penetrate literally beyond the boundaries of our Galaxy. They allegedly even participated in the search for extraterrestrial civilizations and tried to establish contact with the pilots of flying saucers. Another question: was such "penetration" included in the plans of the Pentagon? In addition, psi research cost the American treasury a pretty penny - in 1995, the CIA admitted that it had spent $ 25 million on the program.

The second version says: the experiments were curtailed due to the end of the Cold War. True, as you know, the USA has many enemies without the USSR, and they also need an eye and an eye behind them. Therefore, some, not without reason, believe that the experiments have simply moved to a new stage with new characters and continue in even more secret conditions.
