The story of this man will seem fantastic to many, because he arrived from the XXIII century as a result of a time machine accident and remained forever in the bloody and restless XX century for our country. He survived the years of repression and the Great Patriotic War, he managed to convey to our days the truth that controlled time travel is possible.

I flew in in a time machine

The first to know the incredible story of this man was the famous researcher of anomalous phenomena Vadim Chernobrov. This is how he described his meeting with Yevgeny Iosifovich Gaiduchk: “This man came up to me and after a short introduction said:“I flew here in a time machine! - and introduced himself: - Evgeny Iosifovich. "How do you think I should have answered that ?! Before saying goodbye, I asked why he was telling me all this, and I hear obvious nonsense in response: he allegedly read about a time machine … with me! This was impossible, because at that time my book on time did not even exist in drafts. However, I did not explain all this. What for? What will you take from the patient ?!"

Alas, even a person dealing with anomalous phenomena perceived the recognition of a time traveler as the delirium of a mentally ill person, what can we say about others? Admit his arrival from the XXIII century, Gaiduchok early, most likely, he would have spent his entire life in a psychiatric hospital … Even Evgeny Iosifovich's daughter, Svetlana, learned about the incredible fate of her father only after his death …

Gaiduchok believed that the only person in the USSR who could believe him was Vadim Chernobrov. He was not mistaken, otherwise we might well never find out about his literally fantastic time travel. Fortunately, the researcher nevertheless decided to meet with this mysterious man, after which he regretted only one thing: that he had lost almost two years and had not listened to Yevgeny Iosifovich the first time he found him in Moscow.

“I was then, in the 23rd century, still a very young teenager,” this amazing person told Vadim Chernobrov. - Once, together with a girl, a little older than me in age, we got inside a time machine. How and for what purpose - I will take this secret with me to the grave … We were going to set off at a much earlier time, but it just so happened that in the thirties of this (your) century we suffered an accident …

I hit my head hard, in this state it made no sense to fly further. My companion was not in the best position. But it was not the physical injuries that were most terrible … Horror gripped us when it turned out that the damaged car could not bring us back! Perhaps there was some way out of this situation, but then I was just a foolish boy, and all I could think of was to stick the car around on my own weight.

Let at least one person fly home, and so without hesitation I pushed the girl inside. In addition, it could happen that the car does not have enough energy to fly to the XXIII century, but wherever it made a forced landing, everywhere it would be closer to its time and further from your cruel century. Staying in the 20th century is much more frightening than somewhere … later. Moreover, although we were weak, but still knew how dangerous that place and exactly the time where we were …"

What did he talk to HG Wells about?

Zhenya's fellow traveler flew back to the future, and he stayed in the 30s of the XX century to wait for help. Alas, no one flew for him, it said only one thing - his girlfriend, most likely, could not get to her time. Whether she died or remained, like him, to live in the wrong time, it will forever remain a mystery.

Soon there were kind people who adopted a boy from the future, Zhenya had to get used to new historical realities. As Gaiduchok later recalled, at first he simply hated this time, but after riding a bicycle for the first time in his life, he realized that there were some small joys here too.

The daughter of Yevgeny Iosifovich recalled that in the life of her father there were quite a lot of difficult-to-explain meetings. The most incredible of them seems to be the meeting of the young time traveler with the author of the famous "Time Machine" Herbert Wells … It happened during the stay of the science fiction writer in Leningrad. Wells unexpectedly expressed a desire to meet with Soviet children, moreover, from the very school and class where Zhenya studied. It is said that the writer himself approached the boy and, trying not to attract special attention, briefly spoke with him. So it turned out that Zhenya speaks English. What did the science fiction say to the boy? Alas, this remains a mystery.

It is difficult to explain the fact that such famous people as Kirov, Marshak, Olesha, Bulgakov, Bernes met and spoke with pleasure with a simple Soviet youth … Maybe people from the future still tried to find the boy and came into contact with the same Herbert Wells? Perhaps the science fiction writer told the boy that the time had already been lost, he could not be taken back without changing the future, and he had to get used to someone else's time?

Through years of repression and war

He knew that the years of repression would soon begin, when innocent people would be seized, imprisoned and shot. However, he had to live during these years, knowing that he had absolutely no right to interfere with anything. It was especially difficult to keep my mouth shut and not blur out too much …

Once he nevertheless let it slip and was arrested. In prison he learned to survive, began to smoke (there were no smokers in the XXIII century!), As everyone “believed” Stalin … Before the war he was released, drafted into the army, and he began to serve in the airfield service of a bomber regiment near Baku. Knowing the date of the start of the war, he kept his mouth shut. After all, even calling her, Gaiduchok would not change anything, but he could well have been shot or imprisoned as an alarmist …

During the war, he became a political worker, lectured on German fascism, and painted posters. After the war he stayed to serve, with his part he traveled not only almost the entire Union, but also Eastern Europe. Got a family, a daughter was born, and life passed unnoticed.

He retired, in his Zhirnovsk he organized on a voluntary basis a wonderful museum of local lore, which even foreigners came to look at. For the future, Gaiduchok prepared a real informational message, this is a huge number of systematized clippings from newspapers and magazines, photographs, letters, characterizing our history from 1940 to 1991. Evgeny Iosifovich died in 1991, he lived for 76 years and died two centuries before his birth …

There will be no end of the world

Svetlana Evgenievna recalled what her father told her: “I have heard many amazing stories about spaceports, interplanetary flights, amazing 'furry' creatures, about life on Earth in the future. wooden soldiers, which I heard at the age of five, it was 1951. As you know, the continuation of "The Wizard of the Emerald City Alexander Volkov wrote in 1963 …"

It is worth noting that when talking with Vadim Chernobrov, Yevgeny Iosifovich brilliantly demonstrated his awareness of the future, talking about the upcoming presidency of Yeltsin, the collapse of the USSR, the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, Georgia, Chechnya, Yugoslavia …

There is absolutely no reason to suspect that this person was some kind of swindler or hoaxer. This means that there will be no end of the world in the near future! And even our favorite fairy tales will survive, at least, until the XXIII century …
