It is known that in ancient times there were highly developed civilizations on Earth that had sea and air transport (vimanas), which are mentioned in historical tales and legends of many peoples, including China, India, Egypt and other countries. Their ships sailed in many seas and oceans at any time of the year, probably having devices to determine their position in any weather, time of day, year.
Due to global natural disasters, wars and great migrations of peoples, mankind has lost many knowledge and skills. Over the past centuries, it was necessary to re-acquire what was lost, to create a new one, including navigation instruments, including compasses.
Today, several types of compasses are used:
magnetic, where the needle of a permanent magnet is used;
gyrocompass using a rapidly rotating gyroscope rotor;
gyrocompasses for astronomical tracking of the Sun and other luminaries (the astroradiocompass is based on directional radio emission from the Sun);
radio compasses work with orientation to the radio beacon.
Compasses of various types are used on ships and aircraft, in military affairs. Unified exchange rate systems have been created on their basis.

There are plants in nature that can be called compasses. Their leaves are constantly located in the plane of the meridian, i.e. oriented in the north-south direction. In areas with a hot climate at noon, the leaves of such plants (lettuce, eucalyptus, etc.) face the sunlight falling on them, thereby reducing moisture evaporation.
The simplest modern magnetic and gyroscopic compasses are unacceptable in the polar regions of the planet. It is known from history that in antiquity in China, non-magnetic compasses were used, which pointed towards the south pole. The oldest (known) compass of the 1st Han Dynasty (204-25 BC) consisted of a square copper slab and a stone (porcelain) spoon, which with its hemispherical part rested in the center of the slab. At the same time, a thin handle hung over the slab, pointing to the south, no matter how they turned the slab. Research revealed that there was a strong energy field in front of the handle, which interacted with the invisible southern lighthouse by turning the spoon. It is curious that above the hemispherical bowl of the spoon, in the center of its rotation, there was an energy dome. The increased energy field in front of the handle and above the bowl of the spoon emanated from a flat pyramid inlaid into the base of the handle.
There was also another version of the non-magnetic Chinese compass, which was made in the form of a wooden figure of a man with an arm extended forward. There was also a strong energy field ahead of the hand, interacting with the "beacon" at the south pole. Inside the hand was a non-metallic rod energy emitter. In the XX century. In the storeroom of the Egyptian Museum, a small wooden toy in the form of a glider-plane of unknown purpose was discovered. Studies have shown that there is also an energy field in front of the nose of the toy, similar to Chinese compasses. There is no doubt that this glider in a suspended state (or even on water) will turn to the "beacon" pole. In addition, there is also an increased energy field above the hump of the upper part of the glider (its center of gravity). This indicates that the product belongs to non-magnetic compasses. The energy emitter must be in the bow of the airframe made of non-metallic material.
There was also a wooden "northern compass" among the Scandinavians who sailed in northern latitudes to Spitsbergen, Greenland, America … It had a small wooden circle-cartouche with a handle. Above the circle, a wooden cylinder with a horizontal arrow rotated freely around the vertical axis. Ahead of the arrow was also an energy-field cloud, interacting with some kind of energy beacon at the North Pole. The source of energy radiation was inside the wooden arrow. It consisted of a non-metallic material. There was also a cloud of energy above the center of rotation. A sample of such a compass was discovered in 1948 during excavations by S. Webike in Greenland.
Viking period sailors used calcite or Icelandic spar (sunstone), which has the ability to polarize light, to determine the position of the sun even in cloudy weather. The properties of this stone are based on the action of the Kollsman celestial twilight compass, which is still used on military and civil aircraft flying in polar latitudes.
There is no final answer about the principle of operation of the mysterious non-magnetic and non-metallic compasses of China, Egypt, Scandinavia, as well as the "sun stone".
If in ancient times in different countries there were non-magnetic types of compasses, it means that our ancestors knew about the properties of minerals and nature, which we do not know about.
It is known that in organic and inorganic nature there is interaction between objects. Different materials (bodies) react differently to magnetic, gravitational and other interactions, both at close and at long distances. It turns out that even the elements of the chemical periodic table in the relationship with each other are subdivided into compatible, neutral and incompatible. The same is observed in their near and far interactions. It is possible that individual minerals with long-range interactions could be used in wooden compasses to orientate towards "their" beacons.
In our time, each religion works at its own specific vibration frequency, having its own spiritual centers. But there are natural centers of energy radiation on the planet, similar to human chakras. It seems that modern science can reproduce ancient non-magnetic compasses.
