The ghost of a murdered man helps justice find its killer. Sounds like mysticism. However, forensic scientists from different countries can tell about cases when it was the ghost of the deceased who helped the law enforcement officers to find the criminal and punish him. Judge for yourself.
Fire in the doctor's apartment
One of the most notorious court cases, where testimony was given by … a ghost, was considered in 1979 in Chicago (USA). Two years earlier, in this city was killed punk Teresita Basa, who worked in a local hospital as a physiotherapist. The neighbors saw the flames bursting out of the windows of her apartment, and they called the firefighters, and they, in turn, called the police. The fact is that, after extinguishing the flame, the firefighters found the burnt body of the landlady, with a knife sticking out of her chest. The examination established that the young woman was not raped. Apparently, the motive of the crime was a banal theft - all valuable things and money disappeared from the apartment.
Alan killed me
The investigation in this case lasted six months and eventually reached a dead end. He would have been classified as a hopeless if one day another Chicago resident, Jose Chua, had not been woken up at night by Remi's wife. A woman was screaming the name of a man in her sleep. And she didn’t shout in her own voice.
The couple worked in the same hospital as the deceased Teresita Basa. In the morning, Remi felt unwell and did not go to work, and Jose Chua decided that his wife had a lover, was offended and stayed in the hospital until late. The next night, the same thing happened. Remi shouted again in a strange voice, but this time for some reason in Spanish. “I am Teresita Bassa. Alan killed me! Jose Chua, a Filipino, understood Spanish well, but decided not to say anything to his wife, but to wait for the events to unfold.

Since then, every night, the spirit of the late Teresita continued to speak to José through the mouth of Remi and demand that the couple go to the police. Since Remi and Jose worked in the same hospital as the late Teresita Basa, they soon figured out which Alana was in question. Apparently it was Nurse Alan Showery.
Famous throughout the country
The spouses were in no hurry to see the law enforcement officers. How could a person be blamed on the basis of Remy's nightmares alone? And the spirit of the deceased continued to visit the Chua spouses every night. Teresita Basa said that Alan came to her to fix a broken TV. After killing the unfortunate woman, he set fire to the apartment, stole money and jewelry. However, he gave the jewelry, which turned out to be costume jewelry, to his girlfriend.
Unable to withstand the nightly reincarnations of his wife, Jose Chua, after a few weeks, still went to the police, and on the basis of his statement, the seemingly hopeless case was again taken into consideration. During the investigation, it turned out that Alan Yankee's girlfriend did indeed have new jewelry, which were identified by the relatives of the late Teresita Basa. To explain how they got to Alan Showery, and then to his mistress, the defense could not come up with, and in the end the killer confessed everything. He did stab his colleague for money, but he did not think that all her wealth was only inexpensive trinkets and an idle TV. He set fire to the apartment in order to confuse the investigation.
Alan Showery received 14 years in prison and became famous throughout the country: still, who of the criminals could boast that the deceased victim had brought him into the hands of justice?
Invisible partner
Here's another case. Police Officer Tony Morur kept law and order in exotic and unpredictable New Orleans. While completing the next task, Tony appeared the ghost of the deceased police sergeant Michael Ryan, whose corpse the authorities could not find, and soon became Tony's invisible partner. Michael did not leave him during shootings and chases. He helped a young police officer to investigate intricate cases, protect the innocent and administer justice. In an effort to thank his new friend, Tony decided to find Ryan's killers and his remains so that the soul of the valiant servant of the law could find peace.
In the end, he manages to get to the bottom of this tangled case. In the early 1990s, Michael Ryan's killers ended up in the dock. These were Jan Šmesti and George Grotewohl, dismissed from the police for official inconsistency.
Diary entry
In another case (it also happened in the United States, but at the beginning of the last century), although no one sat in the dock, a man whose spirit demanded a review of the case was nevertheless posthumously acquitted.
It all started when Mrs. Rose Sutton, who lived with her husband and daughter in Portland, Oregon, began to see the ghost of her late son, Officer James Sutton. allegedly committed suicide after a drunken brawl at a party.
For the first time, the ghost of James appeared when Mrs. Sutton received an official letter with terrible news. “As soon as I finished reading the letter,” the woman wrote later in her diary, “a figure of my poor boy, dressed in a military cloak, appeared in the corner of the room,“Mom, I did not kill myself,”my son said. After that I fainted, and when I woke up, a clear picture of the events that led my James to the tragic ending appeared in front of my eyes: a group of men kicked him and with rifle butts, and then one of them took out a pistol and shot several times point-blank at the beaten half to death of his son."
Guests from the other world
James regularly appeared to his mother in her dreams, he described his appearance and called the names of his killers. Rosa Sutton's husband did not believe his wife and attributed her visions to nervous stress. But when the youngest daughter of the Suttons, Daley, also began to talk about that. that her brother appears in her dream and shows photos of the people who attacked him, Mr. Sutton decided to insist on a reconsideration of his son's suicide case.
The process was long and difficult, because the main witnesses in the case were the ghost of the murdered man and his relatives. Lieutenant Sutton was exhumed. An examination of his remains proved that there are multiple wounds and fractures on the body. This, incidentally, contradicted the results of a posthumous study conducted by military doctors. But it was this study that served as the basis for the decision on the suicide of the young officer. In the photographs of James Sutton in the company of fellow officers. submitted to the court. Rose Sutton and her daughter unmistakably recognized his killers, because James repeatedly showed them in a dream. However, all this was not enough to bring charges against these people. The only thing that could be proved: Lieutenant James Sutton did not kill himself.
The name of the American officer was thus cleared of the stigma of dishonor, and, obviously, the cancellation of the suicide verdict satisfied the late Sutton - he stopped bothering his relatives.
The appearances of the deceased in the material world still require an explanation. However, even today it can be assumed that the energetic essence of a person not only maintains connection with our world after death, but can influence the course of events in it! Most often, this happens when on earth some business that is very important for the deceased remain unfinished.
