The world's first operation to restore a finger cut off many years ago will take place in Moscow. Professor Teplyashin claims that he can restore the lost limb.

Patient Marina P. will be the first person who will have a severed phalanx of a finger “built up”. The operation will be performed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Alexander Sergeevich Teplyashin.

Marina turned to the Moscow clinic with a request to undergo cosmetic surgery, which had nothing to do with the restoration of the phalanx of the finger. During the examination, Alexander Sergeevich suggested that Marina, completely free of charge, on the basis of a clinical trial, increase her long-lost part of the hand.

- The main problem is to find a good specialist who would know the specifics of this particular part of the body and would be able to perform the operation with high quality. We will grow bone tissue for transplantation, take measurements, perform an operation - and everything is ready, - said Alexander Sergeevich.

Many years ago Marina P. accidentally cut off the phalanx of her index finger with an electric saw, and only now the woman's hand will return to its normal shape.

- And we will work with the nail plate. Soon and the nail will be. Understand that the operation is just the beginning. Thanks to this technology, it will be possible to restore legs, arms, whatever. It's simple - a person gets a finger, and all people - the hope that they will be saved. We give 100% that new fabrics will take root perfectly.

This is confirmed by clinical trials on animals, which Teplyashin conducted together with the Skryabin Veterinary Academy. For the experiment, 100 individuals of the Romanov breed were selected.

- To demonstrate our discoveries in Germany or, say, in the UK, it was necessary to conduct tests according to international standards. On mice it would be simply frivolous and uninteresting to anyone, - continues Alexander Sergeevich. “We performed an operation to lengthen the bones of each large animal. The most comfortable part of the bone is in the leg. We cut off a part of the bone, inserted the blanks and fixed the leg with the Elizarov apparatus.

The State Central Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics studied the results of clinical trials, and employees of the state institution concluded that this was the first time they saw this.

- My job is to help people, - says Alexander Sergeevich. “But one day I was on an airplane and saw an article in the newspaper about a cat with undeveloped forepaws, it was very difficult for her to move. I called the newspaper office to somehow find the animal - I really wanted to help. But, unfortunately, she was already sent to an unknown orphanage, and the operation failed, - recalls Alexander Sergeevich.

A unique operation to restore the length of the finger will take place in Moscow in three months. In addition to work on the restoration of the phalanx of the finger, Professor Teplyashin plans to create a small dentistry on the basis of his clinic and work out the technology of growing a tooth before Japanese scientists.
