For seventeen years, the Parks Radio Telescope, installed in Australia, received not mysterious signals, but radiation from a microwave oven, which was installed in the observatory's kitchen.

It should be noted that for the first time the signal was caught by scientists in 1998, and throughout the entire time they recorded it twice a year. Interestingly, the "mysterious signal" was named peryon - in honor of the mythical creature, which is represented in the form of a flying deer casting a shadow of a man.

According to experts, the signals were always very powerful and lasted only a couple of seconds. Scientists could not understand where they were coming from, and only assumed that the source of the unique signals was located in space near our planet, but it turned out to be still closer.

Some believed that these are signals coming from lightning.

According to the scientific print publication Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, astronomers managed to find out what is the source of these signals. When the observatory changed its equipment, which can now record signals at a frequency of 2.4 GHz, the scientists found that the telescope was sent "signs" by an ordinary microwave oven, which was installed in the kitchen of the observatory.

It is assumed that the signals appeared when people interrupted the heating, without waiting for the set program, and opened the microwave door. After conducting the experiment, the researchers were convinced that this is the case.
