A young couple from Moscow, a guy and a girl, romantics by nature, decided to meet the dawn in the bay. We went there on 15 August. We crossed the dirt road from "Koshar" through the Biyuk-Yanishar ridge and settled on the beach under the slope of a hill, not far from the descent along the ravine, from the side of Koktebel (the place is marked with 1 on the diagram - approx.).

The sun went down, it got dark, the waxing moon rose, and coolness blew from the sea. After 10 pm, a small fire was made to fry a couple of sausages. At about 23 o'clock, the girl noticed that, as if from nowhere, and possibly from the sea, a ball appeared seventy meters to the east, glowing with a cold, phosphoric greenish light. The ball slowly, quietly sailed over the coastline 30 meters towards the pair. And then, sharply changing the trajectory, he quickly darted into the ravine. The ball was all the time above the surface of the beach at a height of about one meter. Himself the size of a children's rubber ball, 15 centimeters in diameter. “I was frightened and confused,” the girl shares her impressions. "I've never seen anything like it before."

Five seconds passed from the appearance to the disappearance of the ball in the ravine. From the surprise, the girl was confused and did not manage to attract the attention of the young man. Only a little later did she tell him what she had seen. And then everything happened again. A second ball appeared, the same size, with the same speed, at the same height, repeating the trajectory of the first, and also disappeared into the ravine. The girl exclaimed: "Look!" But, according to the young man, it was as if smoke from a burning fire got into his eyes on purpose, and he did not have time to see anything.
Everything happened in almost complete silence, only the faint rustling of the sea, and the crackling of sticks in the fire. The girl says that they noticed some kind of activity near the tent at the eastern end of the bay. Neighbors apparently did not sleep, perhaps they also saw the balls. But they were ashamed to approach them and ask. This phenomenon did not happen again during the whole night.

It is worth noting that the young couple leads a healthy lifestyle, both do not drink or smoke. The girl's story is quite logical, it contains detailed details of what happened. There was also no reason to suspect her of fantasies.
The guys assumed that it was a bit like the light of a laser flashlight, but they themselves rejected this version - there was a ball, not a beam. It was assumed that this is ball lightning. Doubtful version. The night was warm, moonlit, the sky was clear. However, during the day on August 15, and especially at night, the excitation of the Earth's magnetosphere increased. A reasonable logical explanation for what happened was never found.
And how can we not recall the legend of the Feodosia photographer Andrei Serebryakov about the ancient Greek goddess of fortune Tyche, who guards the bay. Andrey considers the bay to be a special, sacred place. There are other eyewitness accounts of unexplained phenomena in the Crimea in the area of Tikhaya Bay, but she continues to keep her secrets and does not reveal them for the time being.
