The iconic place Mount Ebal is located near the city of Nablus.
It was thoroughly researched over 35 years ago. Archaeologists on Mount Ebal in the 1980s discovered many artifacts that date back to biblical times. They confirm the history of the Old Testament. The main artifact in question is the altar. This is stated in the recently aired television series "Biblical Discovery."
“The Book of Deuteronomy records Jesus' command to conduct a ceremony on Mount Ebal, build an altar there and set the stones on which the covenant is written,” reads the series, which sets out the reasons why the area was chosen as a suitable location.
This place is bordered by the city of Shechem, which was the main center of politics and religion in Canaan.
Another reason could be that Mount Ebal was the highest in northern Samaria. The series goes on to say that biblical scholars believed that there was a clear connection between a historic site and its artifact. The biblical Book of Joshua tells the story of how one of Moses' assistants erected an altar of stones.
Perhaps this is where most of Israel lived. The series says Mount Ebal is never mentioned in the Bible after passages from Deuteronomy and Joshua.
The performance is dedicated to the cult finds of Professor Zertal, who proved that there is a huge altar of burnt offering. Scholars speculate that there was more evidence on the hands of Zertal than mere coincidence with the biblical saga. Despite a storm of controversy, the series claims that Professor Zertal has indeed found a place of worship that matches the biblical records.
One argument is the altar, made of natural rough stones and filled with alternating layers of earth, ash, bones and stone. In addition, an older round altar was found dug into the rock.
