Significant in its own way - it has been five decades since the US government closed its famous UFO research project. At least that's what it was stated.
Run by the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1969, Project Blue Book was an in-depth study of unidentified flying objects - the largest ever undertaken in this area.
He pursued two main goals - to determine whether UFOs pose a threat, and to conduct a scientific analysis of the data obtained.
By the time the project was completed, he had amassed an archive of approximately 12,618 UFO reports. Although most of them were thought to have terrestrial explanations, a small percentage of the observations remained “unexplained” even after rigorous analysis.
It was officially concluded that none of the UFO sightings investigated by the Air Force posed a threat to the United States and did not constitute evidence of the presence of alien visitors or advanced technology.
However, not everyone is sure that everything was that simple. Project Blue Book was formed to determine if UFOs pose a threat to America. Over time, when it became obvious that the Blue Book was completely unable to answer this question, its task was to "make the UFO disappear."
It was a cheating game of forgery and manipulation, because the Blue Book investigators were under constant pressure to expose and explain all the UFO reports that reached their offices.
The worst sin one can commit in the Blue Book is to mark the case as “inexplicable,” said those who took part in the research.

Project Blue Book officially closed its doors on December 17, 1969, but its activities did not completely cease until January of the following year.
UFOs really existed, they were much superior to the most modern aircraft of the American Air Force, it was not possible to explain their appearance by natural phenomena, and all this turned into a headache for the American Air Force, which ultimately lobbied the decision to close the project in the US Congress.
The US military decided that it would be easier to pretend that no UFOs exist than to try to explain what they are and where they come from.
